  1. could someone also give me the standard ride height for the car? any help much appreciated. just measured my rx450h on air suspension and all four corners are 46cms from wheel arch to centre of wheel hope that helps
  2. Thanks for the recommendation. I’m really keen to find a quiet tyre that is comfortable too. not to worried about cost or how long it lasts lots of people recommend michelin cross climate……then others say the’re noisy! whatever …..4 new tyres is a big investment if you don’t like them!
  3. I have a 2014 RX 450h premier on air suspension with 60000miles . I have always found it hard and jiggly ,I thought it was the Dunlop tyres and was going to change to Yokohamas but now I’m not so sure! I run mine at 32psi
  4. If you get a regas make sure they know it’s a hybrid that needs special oil ie ND11 and not PAG as used in normal cars. Otherwise can ruin the compressor which actually runs in the oil. Good luck
  5. What is the service interval for plugs and front & rear transmission fluid? Plugs are supposed to be changed at 60000 miles I have heard that old worn plugs can put extra strain on the coils causing failure. Certainly happens on old Jaguars! Transmission fluid on lots of cars is ‘sealed for life’ which to the manufacturers means 5 years. I have always changed auto transmission and differential fluids every 40/50000 miles and never had a problem 🤞🤞
  6. The special plugs fitted will comfortably do in excess of 80k miles, some peoplehave gone 100K but in your shoes I would go with 80k. I just feel that if I change plugs now at 64000 I won’t have to worry about them for a long time (and at 79 this year I might not be capable of doing them next time😩!
  7. Thanks , True but the price for the next service of approx £700 has made me think twice!
  8. Had my 10year old Rx450h now for a year, so lexus warranty now finished. Absolutely faultless for 7000 miles except for a type pressure sensor failing so very pleased with it now I’ve got used to it. On 64000 miles now so servicing myself , have changed oil / filter ,front and rear transmission fluids etc. which were suprisingly easy. Really just leaving a spark plug change which does not look too easy. I would be grateful for any tips from people who’ve successfully done it. Thanks
  9. Hud display is very good especially to keep an eye on speed. Don’t find the ventilated seats particularly good, they don’t seem to do much . At 65000 now with no problems from air suspension. No other problems apart from play in a front wheel bearing.
  10. I’ve had this on another car not Lexus but it was the wire breaking up where it passes through the rubber tube by the hinge of the tailgate. Could prove by manipulating tube and watching screen when tailgate open and gear selector in reverse.(obviously engine off!) Good luck
  11. I’m not sure that 3rd gen cars are susceptible to the can bus theft. Hope someone comes along with a definitive answer (cos mine’s a 3rd gen)
  12. Just worth noting if you’re parking in the street in London. Make sure you have the anti can bus theft plates installed by Lexus ,if not already done. Its free of charge.
  13. Years ago I used to use Waxoyl which can be messy and difficult, but now I can recommend Dynax UB which is a tough brown wax and comes in large aerosols so is very easy to apply and not at all messy. They also manufacture Dynax S50 to inject cavities in the same way. I’ve been using them for a long time on old Jaguars which are notorious for rusting!
  14. Barry Thank you very much for such a detailed description! looks like I’ve got a bit of work to do ! Thanks again Nick
  15. Barry, I have the same sat nav and same car as you. could you please give me any details of how you made and fixed your sat nav. which looks very neat thanks a lot Nick
