  1. Unfortunately, insurance boys just look at trade values and beyond economic repair, but it's worth haggling over.
  2. Picked up car today from Reading having had 2 year service, also informed them that I was having trouble changing from 1st to 2nd and sometimes it was baulking when going into 3rd. After the shock of having to replace 2 front tyres at 8700 miles, I was told that the technicians have noted the same fault and want to strip the gearbox down to find the fault. The receptionist could not book it in till she had authority from her manager, she also said it may ease up in the next few months once I have done 10000 miles (which is what she said this time last year and they changed my gearbox oil) I feel that I should have a new gearbox under warranty, but has anyone else been faced with the same problem? Thanks.
  3. Just to clarify, yes it is the front tyres that have worn, will get them checked out at local dealer Thanks for your help.
  4. Just having my 2nd service done at Reading, they phoned to let me know that the inside of my tyres had between 1.5mm and 2mm of tread, now I have only done 8700 miles since I've had the car from brand new. Beth at Reading said it was because of the suspension set up (whatever that means) and it is rear wheel drive she also said it is not unheard of. Now I treat my car like a baby, never go that fast until engine nice and warm and certainly don't go racing around corners. I have never bumped a kerb so can't think why tracking is out. Beth quoted £130 + VAT for each trye - think I'll phone local tyre dealer first. Has anyone else had same problem? Do you think it is worth writing to Lexus?
  5. Vauxhall dealers fit 2 reversing sensors in the number plate. Cost £160 all in.
