  1. I might have figured this out. I was just stuck in slow moving traffic and noticed the screen off button, which is the volume knob. I thought if I depressed it for long enough it would turn the screen off which I had wanted to try, which it did. The infotainment screen then came back on which meant I must have reset the screen. It took a short while to reconnect CarPlay. I then tried to use Siri to send a message, and lo and behold it seemed to work. I asked Siri to read unopened text messages, and it did, and prompted me if I wanted to reply. I also asked it to read emails, which it did. I parked up, turned the car off and back on again and tried sending text messages, and it still worked. This is only a single point of data, so if you are still hunting for a fix, try this out and let everyone know how you got on. Prior to this, I had a couple of sessions with Apple support and nothing they suggested solved the problem that I was experiencing.
  2. Found this thread on MacRumours https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-17-0-2-apple-car-play-cannot-send-or-reply-to-text-messages.2405858/ As you move through the pages you will see a number of Lexus NX owners with the same messaging problem.
  3. I have the same problem and have been searching for a solution for some time now. I can find no obvious settings to reset or change that might resolve the problem. I have not taken any drastic steps yet but watched a YouTube video yesterday that showed messaging in the car working fine, which mine does not. Any good suggestions welcome.
  4. I received the key fob is ready letter two weeks ago and visited the dealer to get my second key fob on Wednesday 31 January. As has been said, whatever process they go through to programme the new fob takes about an hour. I also made the dealer aware of a wiper issue and sticky fuel filler cap, which they both addressed (I had no idea the cap popped right out - it was stuck when I went to refill the vehicle for the first time after having driven 1,000 miles!). Not tried the second key as I had to find the ‘blade’ that I had forgotten I had been given, and was worried about the tech breaking again as all is working well right now. Car was washed and vacuumed by Lexus and looks like new again.
  5. Before the 450 I owned an Audi Q5 which was plenty fast. I have been experimenting with the Lexus and find that eco mode makes for a nice sedate limousine like drive, normal mode sharpens everything up including responsiveness and acceleration, and sport mode boosts responsiveness and acceleration more again, with the addition of some regen breaking. When in auto EV hybrid mode, if I floor the car in Sport mode, the engine kicks in assisted by the electric motor, the nose comes up, the wheels spin, and the car accelerates quickly, which does feel fast and is much faster than the Q5. The car is fine during motorway driving and I find the car can more than held its own during a trip to London and back last week (using adaptive cruise control is wonderful). Electric power alone is instant and fast and would not break records, but what more would you need unless your goal was to lose your licence or to get yourself into a spot of bother?
  6. I turned off the bleeps on day one, and love the silence. CarPlay works well enough and took me 300 miles to London and back this weekend, but it has a few bugs that I have noticed which I am hoping will be fixed in the 17.2 software update, but none are show stoppers.
  7. I have used the remote climate a few times now, which is a very nice feature that might help with frozen doors. Heats the seats, steering wheel, warms the car, clears windows and door mirrors ready for your journey.
  8. Had the same problem which was frustrating, and tried unsuccessfully to make it go away many times during the day, then the car asked me to log in with my password last night whilst driving. Since doing that the car seems to have stopped playing up, but I have not checked to see if the privacy issue related to geolocation has been resolved. My car location is showing up in the app, so I guess something is working.
  9. My iPhone 14 Pro Max in the clear case also works fine, in fact better than expected. Not sure how much juice goes into the phone though. I was not sure that the charging pad would hold the phone in place but it seems to do a good job as well.
  10. You should have an update for the Lexus Link app in your App Store. Update using that version and everything should work. Looks like their app developers pushed the wrong button.
  11. I noticed the same but did not update. There is an update to the Lexus Link + app. I updated this all all seems to be back to normal.
  12. You should see this in the app, which allows you to open and close the car plus manage the climate.
  13. I just joined this forum which I have been watching up to multiple times each day since I ordered my NX450+PP on 28 October 2022. I want to say thank you for the emotional share, information, tips and knowledge which helped me navigate a long wait in a vacuum of information which culminated in definitive news that my car was awaiting its final checks last week, and my dealer calling me on Wednesday this week to tell me that he would deliver the car to my home on Friday 25 August 2023. Since its arrival, I have managed to set up Lexus Link +, got Apple CarPlay running, plugged in, fully charged, and spent time figuring out and driving a superb vehicle that is EV quiet, comfortable, nippy, and almost able to drive itself. For those of you still waiting, the wait is worth it. The car, which is a 2024 model with 14" and 'moon roof' looks great in Sonic Titanium with Hazel trim and black alloys. It arrived with a paper manual and one key, and the promise of another key in a week. I am back from the first motorway and country lane blast, which took me to Castle Combe, and I am looking forward to much more of that.
