It does look great and I always wised for smaller thinner Galaxy Fold or Flip, I could even deal with smaller battery if that is trade-off.
Recently I was looking at Honor Magic V2, it does look very cool and I like texturing on on side of the phone (almost look like leather texture)... BUT - I just don't trust any chinesium nowadays, Samsung quality is Samsung quality and every person I know who had Huawei, Honor or whatever other stuff comes from China always had issues. They do last ~6Months and then issues starts. I am not even going to go into discussion of chinese malware (it may not be that relevant unless you work for MI6).
Now sure - some years back I would replace phone every 6 months trying to get latest and greatest, so 6 months would not be a deal breaker, but nowadays I use my phones for 3-4 years and therefore I started to appreciate Samsung more, they just get regularly updated, updated for at least 3 years and they usually last just as long. Also I heard rumours that next Fold 6 is likely to be £600 phone, so I may as well wait for that.
I totally agree Samsung quality is top notch.
The Magic v2 does feel well made though, but only time will tell. However it is not water or dust resistant.
The 6 months inside or outside screen cover is a £50 labour charge only, so pretty good if you break it!
Also, I know a bit about quality owning a Vertu Signature Touch made from grade 5 titanium, that was made over 8 years ago!
For me and my eyesight folding phones are a big help, but the Folds weight means it is just too heavy to carry around in my suit pocket

Hello,
Excited about my new toy.
I have had a number of mobile and folding phones over the years.
But the arrival of the Honor Magic V2 folding phone got me very excited.
Why?
It's the future (along with garlic bread as our friend Peter Kay would say).
So I have been into gadgets for many mnay years.. Walkmans hifi, laptops etc etc,
This phone is light, mega thin and great specc, but surprisingly the Battery is big at 5000mah and made from new stuff, silicon carbon!
The bad bit is the cost at £1700, even with early bird deals still looking at £1200, so hardly a bargain!
For some it maybe worth buying in 6 months time when it will be worth £500?
I have a few phones at the moment which I rotate round including a Samsung galaxy fold (the brick). I can assure you, I will not be doing that now and will use this everywhere including in the car.
Also interestingly this could be the Battery technology for cars in the future?

Yes the brakes were later revised to Brembo.
We have the same brakes as the F models - the ISF,GSF and RCF.
Nice one and that is good to hear. Thank you

Hi
Yes I know what you mean now - I do prefer the ones which project onto the screen - if you do buy it please psot up a review
Yes sure will do. Thanks

Hello
Can I ask what screen wash you are using?
Believe some ( Halfords cheap type) develop a sludge which blocks everything, pipes.nozzles etc
If that is the case then it is best emptying and cleaning the whole reservoir tank.

Isn’t there a centuries long. “ hate hate “ relationship between China and Japan that might just over rule trade ?
Malc
Yes I think the same, anyone who is friends with Taiwan is an enemy of China.
JaPan is all about perfection, China is abpit copying, how different these two countries are.

Hello zBoomer54,
Sorry to hear about the situation you were forced in a difficultsituation to by some little ****. Taking advantage of an mature gentle person like yourself. Coward!
Although I live near Manchester. It has its good bits and bad bits, like EVERY place in the UK.
You can take the monkey out of the jungle but you can't take the jungle out of the monkey!!
There is huge frustrations on the roads. Zillions of cars, queues, red lights. Cyclists. Taxi drivers. Buses etc. Which adds to our STRESS levels.
So my advice. Soak it in. You have the beautiful car,put on some chilled music and relax. The nutters we can't control or stop.
BTW everyone wants to race me in my Bentlry especially the Gplf GTI and some BMW drivers, but am not bothered about them.
However, suprisingly for me. now and then I let go on the ls600hl and smile, it's a nice feeling.
Anyway just imagine that nutter must have pulled up against someone, who may have just took a few of his teeth out!!

I would like point out something about China. Do not consider them as 1 country. Do you know how much land in Africa and Asian countries they have bought, from government deals?
There assets are truly spread world wide. So if they do get squeezed, they have other options.
Yes Russia and China need each other. With Iran and a few other countries standing in unity.

This brand and model will sell in small amounts in the USA. However the biggest market is China and if you know the Chinese they love a great brand first, so again not sure about the sales here either.

Hello
One thing I don't have in my MY 2010 LS600hl is a heads up display.
Dissapointed really. as I know most smaller cars like Pruis have these.
Has anyone fitted an aftermarket one on the dash? Any to avoid? Or things to watch out for?
Thanks

I have 245/45/19 on my Lexus LS600hl and 245/35/20 on my other car (Bentley Continental GT) So great on the big heavy cars. Not sure how 245 will ride on your car.

It sounds like the pre-collision warning was triggered - did you feel a tightening of the seat belt at all?
Did it look similar to this video I came across? - I hope you wasn't driving like this 😋Thank. I was not speeding so 18 mph. I can't remember the seatbelt tightening though as it happened so quick.
It mist have thought the car in front was coming into me?
-
Hello
Driving on a 20mph road and a car coming in the other direction. Not speeding or anything.
Then just before car passes me I see a large red rectangle on my dash screen and hear loud beep sound. It then goes off and stays off
Is this a warning the car going to hit me or something?
Thanks

Anti-glare a must, espcially as you get older.
I prefer polaroid coating over polychromic as they cut down glare rather than cut down all light and they (IMHO) are better for when you are one minute driving in sun and then cloudy conditions, as polaroid will only filter out a max of 50% light, and next to 0% if the light is all in one plane.
So I carry clear set with anti-glare and polaroid set with no anti-glare with me
I also agree anti glare is a must. When you driving at night and the very powerful headlights hit your eyes, the impact is lessened with having the coating

My tip would be don't travel unless necessary, many jobs allow working from home in the post pandemic era.
If you do venture out make sure the car is fully defrosted and all windows clear, also be wary of using your screenwash which can instantly freeze in cold conditions.
I have a recollection of driving on black ice on a dual carriageway, car in front spun hit the kerb and then rolled over three times (fortunately no one was injured). I stopped and got out of the car, immediately falling on my arse it was so slippy.
Thank you.
Just talking about screenwash, I think it is a matter of higher concentration in winter? Also does anyone know if Lexus have heated washer jets like the VW group?

Where do Palestine refugees live?
Nearly one-third of the registered Palestine refugees, more than 1.5 million individuals, live in 58 recognized Palestine refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
Approx how many live in Jotdan and Lebanon please? Where are all the other Muslim countries please,? E.g. Egypt. UAE etc etc

I doubt it’s just UK originating stolen cars feeding the Africa and Eastern Europe crooked car dealers and breakers ……..
How they get into containers and then freely onboard ships baffles me ……. does no one check, Maersk themselves whatever ?
Clearly the UK insurance industry doesn’t care a hoot …… possibly not economically viable for them to set up any sort of checking system !
Simply up the insce premiums to cover themselves OR not even insure some marques …… like Range Rovers now I understandBest to simply own a car not worth thieving maybe 🤔
Malc
One issue with this country we just claim off our insurance and no chase or bother by police or anyone else.
Yes more should be done in the docks.
There will be an issue in other European countries too, but I think we ee always slow to react in the UK.
Insurance companies do not care. They are in thus business and work off cars getting stolen and not recovered.
The owner will always lose, come renewal or have to oay an excess

Hello,
I just wanted to talk about cars stolen from the UK and abroad.
They are rarely going to Middle East countries as many have very strict laws, in Dubai you will see lambos and ferraris abandoned, if the owner defaults payment on the ca, it could be a jail sentence.
Africa (quite many countries) there is a huge demand for SUV and luxury cars. There is so much corruption nobody cares if it has been stolen and where from.
Car stripped for parts, Romania , Poland and some other East European Countries.
Car crime uis rife in most countries..
I was in Pakistan and there is a place called Ghair Alaka. Which is about 15 mile stretch before you hit Afghanistan.
In that area it is full of stolen cars, brand new shoguns etc and you are free to drive there and in Afghanisran, just not in Pakistan where are stolen from. Is anything g done to recover these, nope.

I use neat screenwash (extreme winter stuff) on a rag and coat all of the door seal surfaces - stops them freezing together.
Also I carry a tube of rubber cement (innertube glue) - if you happen to split a rubber wiper blade this is excellent for emergency repair, if your out and about without a spare blade to hand.
Thanks guys, learning good stuff here, keep them.coming

In truth, I I kind of make it a thing to try and make some kind of positive contribution to people ,because I really don't see the point of all that negativity and bitching and complaining. It wears me out whilst being 'up' makes everything a bit more enjoyable.
Nice one and the way it should be!

T'is the truth, but if I have learned one thing in the biblical three score and ten it is that life is just too short to live it thinking about things over which you have so little control. Hence, we can germinate over international politics , or we can go squirm about under a really cool car in out thermals. No poll required. Choose you epitaph , "he died with a frown", or "he was smiling right up until the jack gave way".😀
Yes spot on. Or how about..
Whatever you drive, wear, own or even the Country you think is yours forget it!!. Its all borrowed and you are on borrowed time. Put all the differences aside and make the most of life. And smile!
