  1. In case it helps anyone else in future, it appears that FAT32 format is only typically available on USB's of 32GB or lower, and I had bought a 128GB one as I have a fair amount of music. I bought a 32GB one, formatted to FAT32 and am now playing music just fine in the LC. I have just had to be a bit selective on the music!
  2. Lexus will never last offering these huge discounts lol
  3. So far, mine has been fine, unlike various cars I have had before. I am a new owner myself though, so don't have much ownership experience to rely on. I know mine lasts at least 2 weeks, and I get the impression it would last much longer without any issues, though hopefully it won't be parked up so much in future to test this out. This being said, if I were going on hols for 2 weeks with the car on the drive, I might be tempted to disconnect the battery for security reasons!
  4. I'm not particularly tech savvy. I have a new memory stick and loaded music onto it that wouldn't play in the LC. I had left the format as it came which was exFat. Having read this thread I thought I needed to format to FAT32, but it doesn't give me that option. The only other option is NTFS, which I tried and also doesn't work. Any ideas?
  5. Congratulations on the purchase; i'm sure you will have a great day picking it up.
  6. Black ones certainly don't seem to be in demand.
  7. I just disconnected under the car. It was really simple - just made sure I protected the open ends of the connectors (bagged and taped) and secured up out of the way with cable ties so that they didn't hang down. I have some wooden blocks I used to use with a race car, so I just reversed onto them, and that gave me the three or four inches clearance I needed to be able to squeeze under the rear of the car, and saved having to jack the car up.
  8. What i'm liking about the yellow is it really doesn't show the dirt. Hasn't been cleaned since I bought it and has been out in some miserable weather, but still looks great. Hopefully will get a chance to give it a clean this weekend, as the weather looks good.
  9. Having had a QV a couple of years ago, it's certainly more of an engaging car when driven hard, but unfortunately when driven hard, you will find yourself doing license losing speeds far too easily. When driven at legal speeds, I didn't find it that much of a thrill. The LC is more of an event, and sounds nicer; it just wouldn't see which way a QV went in most situations, so if that would bother you, then go with the QV. The other factor to consider is reliability; I had no issues with my QV, but many owners have had issues (mainly electrical), and the customer care is poor. The Lexus warranty and service will be far, far superior, giving peace of mind.
  10. Many years ago, when I had a Vantage, the first thing I did upon picking it up was to sort the exhaust flaps out, so they stayed open all the time. In the Aston, this was really easy, as all you had to do was locate and pull out 'Fuse 22'! It sounded much better and the fuse never went back in. I did a bit of internet digging on how to do this on the LC and while it wasn't quite so simple, it was still pretty straight-forward. It has made a reasonable difference and i'm now much more pleased with the sound when i'm just pootling about, which lets face it, on our roads is most of the time. I'm curious, is this something that most owners have done? on the Aston, I would say 99% of owners pulled fuse 22. What's the next step up if I wanted more theatre / noise from the LC? The only option I could see was for a complete 5K+ new exhaust system to go on, and i'm not sure I can justify that, or indeed just how much difference it will make.
  11. Personally, I'll take the hit every time, rather than entertain the risk and potential aggro of selling privately. Each to their own though. When I sold my Quadrifoglio a couple of years ago, I looked at some of the high end dealers that already had one for sale as it showed it was the type of car they were interested in. I then contacted one of them directly (Redline, who as it turns out had just sold the one I saw advertised, so were keen to get another in) and quickly agreed a deal that we were both happy with. They collected the car a couple of days later - couldn't have been quicker or less hassle. The only potential problem with the LC that I can see is that some dealers may not want it as it may be perceived as a car that could sit around for a long while before a buyer comes along.
  12. Picked the car up, though the journey home wasn't exactly relaxing what with Friday traffic, an A1 closure and my satnav taking me down increasingly narrow lanes on a diversion... anyway, I got home in one piece in the end. Work then got really busy and coupled with the rubbish weather, the car hasn't been out the garage too much - that should change very soon! That being said, I have driven it enough to find out that the Bridgestones aren't the grippiest of tyres when it's cold and wet. I haven't found the track-pad too bad to be honest, and personally, i'm glad my car has come with the 'old' dash rather than with the touch screen, as I wasn't a fan of how it had been implemented (and I like the clock..).
  13. I bought my custard yellow one in the hope that it would be even less desirable than a red one 😂
  14. Well, the merch arrived before the car! Two days till i'm picking her up and the 5hr drive home.
  15. Bright Yellow tennis ball on bright yellow string duly ordered. It will blend in with the car rather well lol. Hoping to pick the car up next week sometime - shame the weathers so crap.
  16. The tennis ball approach is always a good idea, but it's best if I reverse into my garage for a number of reason, so it doesn't really work for me. That being said, I could always do it so it makes contact with the drivers wing mirror perhaps. With my Quadrifoglio, I used to get it within a few inches, then get out and roll it back by hand, just to be on the safe side. I will be fitting some sheet foam to the back wall. just in case!
  17. Your garage puts mine to shame - I can never keep my spaces tidy; I just fill whatever space I have with 'stuff'! My double garage is nice and wide but quite short. I believe I will have less than an inch either end. I need to come up with a fool-proof way to not take the back wall of the garage out, bringing the roof down on me (a good reason not to get the convertible lol). I guess i'll be bolting down a some blocks of wood to give a good definite stop.
  18. I have a double garage where the car will live, but it's currently got filled with 'junk' and I urgently need to clear some space. Don't suppose anyone know the width of the rear of the car (at the widest part of about the last 2ft of the rear), as I have a load of shelving that I need to cut back just enough so that the car will fit in.
  19. I wasn't really looking to buy just yet, but they come up so rarely that I grabbed a top spec one when it did. Just keep an eye on both Autotrader and the main Lexus site as many main dealers don't list on AT.
  20. Well, my new purchase is on Bridgestones, so I'm going to have to learn to love them until they're worn out. I can't justify changing while they're virtually new.
  21. oh, wow, that one has gone already then. Just goes to show if priced right they will sell. I didn't think the one I have bought had ML, as don't think it was mentioned in the ad. Wouldn't have stopped me buying it personally, but it was a bonus when I got there and saw it did have it after all. Good luck in your search.
  22. I think the red ones still for sale. This one? https://www.motors.co.uk/car-69741511/?i=3&m=undefined
  23. Well, today I did a thing... so much for buying a red one 2023 Sports Plus with black interior and ML sound system, and less than 2K on the clock
  24. Seeing as this is now on Page 4, I'm aware that I should have called this thread "Potential LC500 after A LOT of advice" but don't think it's possible to change the title 🙂
