  1. As mentioned above the car comes with two master and one valet keys. Have you lost both master keys?
  2. Unless the drifting is extreme, I should leave it. Our Rx400 does exatly the same (spending six months/year in the Algarve) we have got used to it. It only really comes into play if you take both hands of the steering wheel. Once back on UK roads, you can take both hands off the steering wheel without it drifting. Thinking of buying a second hand left hand drive Rx400 and leave it down there, since they have come down in price so drasticly. Have driven a LHD version in the Algarve and it does not drift when you take your hands off the steering wheel, so it must have something to do with the set-up for the country of purchase. My thoughts for what they are worth....................
  3. Think you are in the "normal" consumption bracket. We run our RX400 in the Algave half of the year and get max 32-33 miles/gallon in the much warmer climate. In the UK (at present) we get 27-28 miles/gallon (mixed driving at both locations).
  4. Currently running a 2005 version in the RX400, and wanted an update. The dealer said the latest version was 2007, which does seem a bit old, as the Lexus manual suggest annual updates. Can anyone cast some more light on when a 2009-10 version will become available? Also I have located the DVD player in the boot, but does not seem to be able to get the current DVD to eject. Any advise would be highly appreciated.
  5. Have tried all 2nd hand left hand drive car sellers in the UK, without success. Any idea where I can purchase a good second hand LHD RX400h in the UK??
  6. Dear Great Dane, I took this up with Lexus. My Lexus agency thought it a good idea. I asked them to take it up with Lexus UK Technical Department on my behalf. They in turn also thought it a good idea, thought it should work, but before sanctioning its use, they will be testing it out in their workshop. Hopefully we are getting somewhere. I presume once it is shown to work via the cigarette lighter, all RX400h cars should be provided with one. Thanks for the Booster suggestion!! Ruth Hi Ruth, Wonder whether you have heard back from Lexus. If they approve of the Black & Decker booster I will buy one immediately. You never know when it happens to you, so better safe than sorry. Look forward to hearing news from you.
  7. Having received exemption from the congestion charge in 2005, I every year automaticly receive a letter asking if I wish to renew? If so I just forward the enclosed slip together with the £10.- fee and Bob' your Uncle - as easy as that.
  8. During a commercial break one night the Black & Decker battery booster "popped" up. Wonder whether that would be suitable to carry in the boot? What do you think? http://www.blackanddecker.co.uk/automotive...hierarchy/1744/
  9. When reading this tread, I wonder whether we have got the same car. Our RX400h is parked in our garage in the Algarve (without any attention), it has started up every time we come down, even when as this last time it had been left for just under four months. We must have been lucky and got a good model, as far as battery discharge is concerned. I take it you leave the car in "parked" mode, and have no additional electrical extras connected up? Wish you luck in getting the problem solved.
  10. Very surprised to hear that. Our RX400h is now temporarily 'living' in the Algarve, and is often left on its' own in the garage for 6-8 weeks without any attention. It starts first time we come back without any hesitation. Did you remember to leave the car in 'park mode'? If not the battery will go flat very quickly.
  11. Why don't we just all agree to obey the law? If you don't care about your own safety, please spare a thought for other road users.
  12. Getting nice green 8/8 almost every day on ours, even from motorway driving. Car 20 months old 16,000 miles.
  13. Find that reasonable. Would have expected it to at least twice that amount.
  14. Got our RX400h on 15 June (first on the road in London). In the Summer we easily got 32-36 mpg, whereas in this colder climate the average is down to 28-30 mpg. This apparently is normal for all hybrids. Toyota Prirus owner experience the exact same thing. Come Spring/Summer you will see a vast improvement. You must admit it is a lovely car to drive. Happy motoring
