  1. Thanks everybody for replies. Will probably not bother with extension. FYI alloys were already replaced after one year. Thanks to this forum I pointed out a few noticeable "bubbles" at initial service and wheels were replaced without further ado with, I think, refurbished ones (which have a sort of pearly finish and to my mind look better than originals!) The replacements appear to be doing pretty well - even though I live only a few yards from the sea, but I do at least wash the wheels regularly!
  2. Thanks, Daffy! Yes - it was bought new and been serviced by Lexus. Just worried that some major things might go, but having since read on the forums about cars reaching huge mileages pretty well trouble-free hopefully my couple of thousand miles a year should not cause too much bother. Fingers crossed!
  3. Thinking of purchasing a Lexus extended warranty when current three year warranty expires in a few months' time. Does anyone have experience of these - been quoted £580 for each additional year (up to a maximum of four extra years). Seems expensive. Are they worthwhile? What do they cover exactly? Any info appreciated. Thanks!
  4. I meant that we don't have an outside aerial that birds can perch on - the flats have a common aerial in loft. Anyway, this break in transmission is affecting a wide local area, not just our set. And all the channels are still off this morning! Something very strange going on.
  5. Trouble is we don't have a roof aerial and the whole area seems to be affected. Happening regularly now and just wondered whether anyone else in the Clyde Valley experiencing similar failures. It's a calm night here and all programmes off for over four hours now. Doom and gloom!
  6. I know this is way off the topic of cars, but is anyone else experiencing breakdown of TV channels? This is the third time in around two months it has happened here in the West of Scotland (Clyde area). We personally do not have Sky, which I understand functioning OK. We are receiving nil on terrestrial channels (BBC and ITV) for last few hours and getting very frustrated about the whole thing. No info available anywhere that I can locate. Any TV engineers out there who can explain just what is happening?! Thanks.
  7. 64 - That's pushed the average up somewhat!
  8. Thanks your reply, Steve. Yes, have felt the disc and there are definite ridges. Should it have prompt attention? Car appears to be handling OK and as mentioned not easy to get to the dealer.
  9. Hope somebody can shed light on following. While cleaning the wheels noticed the surface of rear offside disc on my 200 Sport looks very ridged. The rear nearside disc shows slight wear, but both front discs are smooth. Car is 04 reg, has only done just over 4000 miles and was serviced by Lexus dealer couple of months ago. Cannot visit dealer easily for opinion as located on island so hoping one of the many knowledgeable folks on the forum can give me benefit of his /her advice. Thanks!
  10. Not quite! I drive an Astral Black 04 IS200 Sport (unmodded) - and could this "girl" in her early sixties be one of the oldest members of LOC???
  11. Thanks a lot, Gord. Could not find anything about that in the handbookl. Once again this website turns up trumps. Find it really fascinating, although admit a lot of the technical stuff is way above my head.
  12. No doubt someone will be along to solve the following query from a rather ignorant woman driver! When viewed from the front of my IS200, what is the long tube containing pale yellow fluid located near the windscreen to the right of the brake fluid container? Thanks in advance for clarification.
  13. Purchased new IS200 Sport March 2004 including three years free servicing. Never received vouchers in post and when queried with dealer was told there was some problem with supply, but not to worry. Details had been entered on the invoice at the time and when car taken for first service this year there was no problem and ongoing arrangement was confirmed by Service Desk.
  14. Hi! This is my first post. Have been visiting your informative site for some time and spurred into joining by recent poll of members' ages - felt I had to fly the flag for the over sixties (with unmodded cars!) Agree that the new model lacks several of the current IS 200 attractive and unique features. Pity!
