I'm getting really excited now about the GS....I'm gonna sit down with THE FAMILY tonight and ok the colour and spec combo...my son is probably going to force me to buy the 430 (ahh partnerships... :winky: ) WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!! Come on surely someone want this place...I'm shocked !

Hi Guys, I test drove the RX400h a few days ago and sadly I have decided not to buy it. It is indeed a wonderful vehicle, but I have fallen in love with the new GS and will be ordering one of those in the very near future!!! As it stands there will be an RX400h of ANY MODEL SPECIFICATION, ANY COLOUR COMBINATION and with ANY EXTRAS available for me to collect on the 28th!!!! I know a lot of you want this vehicle and are slightly peeved at the large waiting list, so this is your chance to have one of your choice and spec within a fortnight. You can however also have the delivery delayed to a time more suited to you if you would like. The Lexus policy is that if I do not buy the vehicle it has to return to Japan and CANNOT be sold to anyone else until reallocated. If you are interested please let me know very soon as I need to make a choice so that I can make my move on a GS!! Thanks

well then lex woul have to have an IS350h. M3 Killer me thinks :P Will lex change the engine hybrid combo in the rx aswell and then also in the gs? Imagine what the power of a hybrid in an ls or sc would be like...better yet what about an lfa hybrid. I think i'm going to cry...I'm off to rob a bank

OK guys, I spoke to the dealer today and saw the document you are all talking about. They say that all of the information is still correct to the best of their knowledge, but it is still preliminary information. Thanks :zee:

BTW its funny I spoke to Dave Goodman today and he still says that they have no official information from lexus available to customers and doesn't know what you guys are on about...AJ is going to ring me tomorrow so we will see what I can prise for those sealed mouths...TBC

Hiya Great Dane, Thank you very much for your help, you're a real trooper! Forget the pint, if we meet at the handover I'll have a bottle of champagne waiting for you! Looking at the spec it seems that a RX400h SE Navigator is going to set me back £41907 - basically £42K. Yeah this is steep, but I think I going to try and stetch the extra £2K for it because I imagine the residual values will be great. I have to say though the colours are a bit uninspiring...just wish there was something new.. a bit special!! Oh well.... I expect though that Lexus have priced the car high enough to see a small dropout on the waiting list so some people might sell their places! Not me I want this car bad... :zee: Thanks guys B)

:zee: By the way Great Dane, Can you please tell me are there any noteable changes in specification across the range, i.e. is the spec higher like it is in the US or is it the same as the normal 300 cars?

Hiya, Yeah GreatDane I have paid my deposit, but I am worried that if the price ends up north of £40k I will not be able to afford it and so I am planning...(*** forbid)...just in case. :zee:

If the RX400h has a price increase of £5000, will people continue to buy the RX300 or will more people stretch for the RX400h? Lets see... Will the RX300's residual values be affected? Is it worth it? So many questions... Thanks :zee:

Colin, IMHO Lexus are not yet in the same realm as BMW, Mercedes and Jaguar in terms of kudos in the U.K. BMW seem to be able to get away with murder. Most recently their cars have been UGLY...yet they are still turning record profits and sales. Lexus is in a position where it still needs and wants to steal away disillusioned or other customers from the above three brands. This is why I feel that Lexus must offer a spec. increase in the RX400h. Perhaps they will include Sat-Nav in the SE and DVD rear Entertainment in the SE-L. Thanks

Hi Colin, I gather that this price increase is the indicative value given to dealers..ie. not set in stone. In America they are only shipping two versions of the car for pre-order customers, do you think that will be the case here or the will Lexus ship a 400h, SE and SE-L? I personally cannot see how they can ship a 400h as this will likely have no leather - unacceptable in a £35000+ car! Thanks :zee:

Hiya guys, I have been browsing the website for a while now, so I thought it was time that I added my two cents... I, like many of you, have 'pre-ordered' the RX400h. I have had my order in for ages now at Lexus Edgeware and am on the first batch due in June. Now that the US launch is oh so near and the UK launch is not that far away the media interest has definately picked up. Unfortunately my dealer still knows nothing concrete! However all the most recent magazine spots, i.e. this months Autocar, The Times and some others have had 'educated' stabs at the predicted price. The nicest was Whatcar? with £32000 (est.) and the worst Autocar at £45000 (est.) What does everyone think the real price will be and what will the standard specification be like? Thanks :zee:
