got a question about the 6 disc cd player in the is200 ive been getting an error on the lcd on the cd player saying "error 1".....and it doesn't do anything when that happens...cannot skip the track and only thing u can do is just skip the cd or eject the cd....sometimes taking the cd out and the reinserting it solves the problems and sometimes no matter what cd i play the same thing happens with all cd's!!!! it's really annoying when that happens when ur driving at 80mph on the motorway..lol after reading some posts here on lexusownersclubuk..i've found that "err1" and "err3" seems to be common errors but cannot find any posts referring to the "error 1" message..... ...............................the err1 refers to the cd lens and the err3 refers to a disc jamm.....am i right in thinking that the err1 and the error 1 messages are the same and that my lens is f***ed!!!! if it is i've also read that the stereo has a 5 year warranty and that i should be able to get it replaced by lexus....nearest dealer is stockport...and they give a discount to gold members i believe....(smile) maddy

will be there at 11/12ish....dont know if i will stay for the bowls tho...being a newish gold member...this would be my first meet maddy

cheers for the kwick replies guys/... i've tried uppercase and lowercase ...have tired diiferent passwords using the same username still the same error about the username has already been taken. i do remember when i first registered i did try to become a gold member and then stopped halfway thru the process...could it have sommat to do with that? and if so how do i rectify it so that i could become a gold plated member?

just tried with another password and same username and i still get the following error "Sorry, username already taken " am i meant to be entering the username that i have registered with here at lexusownersclub?

sorry to bother u all...but i;m having a problem when ii'm trying to become a gold member....maybe it's me and my pea sized brain!!!!! when i fill the page out with all my personal details\car details\username and password, it keeps coming up with an error that ther username and password is already taken....i'm currently logged onto lexusownersclub.co.uk with the same username and password....is it something that i'm doing? maddy

cheers guys for the reply...i will get a second opinion about the pads....but the water seal....if i let it leak will it cause major problems or can i just forget about it and let it carry on leaking???? maddy

hia all ...just got two new "bridgestone potenza re040 215/45/zr17 cz" fitted from lexus manchester (bury new road) today...and they have also said that my front pads are dangeroulsy worn and are nearly metal to metal....they quoted me £140 all in for the front pads...including vat and fitting....is that something that i shouldnt get too worked up about and just go ahead and get it done from them??? btw paid £245 for the two new tyres.... ...also they said that my water pump/seal has a weep????? does that mean it's leaking?....is it a costly repair?....hope it's not gonna much to get fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as i;ve had the car a month and a half and it's starting to cut BIG holes in my pocket and wallet!!!!!lol cheers maddy

cheers for the advice mat....very helpful....interms of the induction kit...is that a worth while mod?...in your own personal opinion..other opinions obviously may be different...lol

so in terms of the rear wheel drive lexus is200 whch is more important...strut bars or anti roll bars?

@monster-matt what i was honestly going to do first was some kinda induction kit under the bonnet...something simple and easy to start of with.....am i right in thinking that the induction kit is that long metal cylindrical tube ( with several bends in it) with a cone shaped filter at the end of it?

i'm not looking to go start really messing about with it too much.... the basic setup looks kinda awright for me.... a nice simple set up TTE springs or Eibach TTE anti roll bars Cusco front strut bar... how do i find out the prices of these 3 items?...it might sound abit stupid but what do the anti roll bars do?.....are they different to the strut bars?

@monster-mat so what do i need to in terms of gettng that communitive ride?,,,,,, u see i have no idea what i should be looking for when lowering a car///....do i need springs? dampers? shocks? i have no idea....are strut braces the same as anti-roll bars?

coincidently......i was just thinking....maybe getting the front drivers and passengers window tinted....alloys are ok not too bad....being abit tail happy might start thinking about lowering/strut braces (i thinnk i';m right in saying that if i do the stut/lowering mod it will help the cornering but you will loose the ride quality)...

hia all.,,i have just bought myself a 2001 (y plate)lexus is200 sport astral black....42000 miles....full lexus service history...just had a 40000 service...mint inside and out....it is gleaming, not a scratch anywhere!!!! drives superb.....just had a new lexus stereo fitted from lexus as the original had laser problems, ,,,,,it's also got 5 new alloys from lexus as the originals had corroded. i bought it for £10350. is that a good price to pay for it? will post photo's of it soon. maddy p.s....ive got to say that it has dissapointed my when driving around corners....back end starts to twitch a little.lol but overall i'm very happy with my new buy!!!
