Chaps, I know this subject has been done to death over the past few months but... My IS 200 was registered in late November 2002 cleaning the wheels at the weekend I noticed bubbles of corrosion have started appearing on the wheel spokes! I read somewhere that this problem was fixed in April last year. Does anybody have a similar age car with the same issue? Also if they get swapped under warranty do I have to accept a reconditioned set or should I insist for new. Does anybody know the legal position on this? Thanks, Kernow.

I’ve turned mine off auto because it annoyed me that in the dark the lights came on before I started the engine in the morning. It also annoys me that the headlight washers work (once only) with the windscreen washers with the headlights on. And another thing…

Chaps, I got double-flashed today on the way to work! I have been thinking about getting a GPS camera detector for a while so maybe now is the time. Since I last looked there are now quite a few on the market. I was thinking about an Origin blue but now the Snooper S6-R Neo looks like a better bit of kit. Has anybody got the new Snooper? Also any thoughts if these detectors might become illegal in the UK in the future? Kernow.

Import Update! I’ve taken the plunge and bought an import! IS200 SE Automatic in Astral Black. The car was already at a dealer so no 20 weeks waiting. It might not have been quite as cheap as doing it yourself but I still got a good saving on the UK list price. All the legwork has been done for me and the car came with road fund license, a full tank of fuel and the dealer even fitted genuine Lexus mats! The car drives like a dream and appears identical to UK supplied cars. 24 hours is too early to tell how my decision will fair. However I’ll post my experiences, good and bad so you’ll have an idea if an import could work for you. Kernow.

The going rate (Motorpoint) appears to be GBP £17995 for an IS 200 SE manual & GBP £18995 for an SE auto. The above price includes metallic colours. If you phone around some dealers have unregistered examples in stock so it's possible to negotiate a little more. Kernow.
