Hi guys,

I've got a X reg (2000) is200 se and have just got myself a double din.

I don't think I need that long a cable cause i think i only need the adapter from the cables from the head unit to the car?

Thanks

Yes thats the cable you need, the se's and sport models came with a built in amp that lives under the glovebox and passenger side kick trim.

This has to be unpluged to connect the new amp-by=pass cable to, which is then ran up the inside of the dash to the new head unit.

So the link you gave is correct.

Also wehn fitting the new head unit find the aerial cable, it has a black wire attched to it, this black wire is the 12v+ feed to power the signal booster which you must feed 12v+ to give you any decent radio reception!!!!

Pm me if you need any more help fitting your new head unit.

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Sorry to jump in on the thread i have just installed an after market head unit myself and have no reception from the aerial. Am i correct in saying that i will need to wire the aerial's 12v power to the head unit? If so can i use the blue and white amp control wire from my new head unit to do this?

Yes Martin that will be fine to power the aerial.

Don't apologize for thread jumping mate, were here to help anyway we can.

Many thanks for the advise will get that wired in which should hopefully put to rest what i thought was going to be a simple wiring job. :)
