Just joined today (12 years too late). Got some specific issues with Maintenance especially in New York, NY. Need some advice on non-dealer repair options.

1991 LS400 79,000 miles. Garaged in Manhattan (therefore accumulating many nicks and scratches). Facing supposed repairs of up to $3000 for speakers, ball joints, power steering pump, and axle boots according to dealer. Would like to evaluate with non-dealer repairshop, and replace speakers myself. Any ideas ?? Is it worth doing any further repairs of this thing or should I just sell? It actually runs as well as ever. Questioning the dealer as he once told me to rebuild the transmission while a transmission specialist (Aamco) did a diagnostic and determined all that was needed was new fluid !!!

anything u need on that car i now a good place where u can take it or even check out the prices i live in pennsilvania i drive to new jersey to this guy to do major fixing like brakes or tune up so cheap and he takes good care of me honest man really email me mike_mike926@yahoo.com with any comments name is mike pleasure to help out i own a 1991 ls 400 with know 164,000 miles no problems i love the car
