Lexus ES350H UK adpative main beam

My wife has a 1 year old ES350H in the UK and we think there is an issue with the adaptive main beam.  We know how it should operate, above a set speed and they will dim parts of the headlight when it detects other cars to prevent blinding them.  The issue is, on a dark country road with no road signs, houses or other cars, switching on the adaptive main beam causes the main beam to dim, switch it off and it goes back to normal, this is without moving the stalk to dip beam, just engaging the adaptive main beam. The dealers are saying they all do this in the ES range or last least the two they have in stock and have tested.  My GS F uses the same principle and it does not happen on him the UX courtesy car they provided while checking the issue also does not do this.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I have a 2020 model ES with the automatic adaptive lighting, I find it great although it never seems to switch to complete full beam unless it’s really dark , I just switch the auto button on the end of the stalk to off if I want the complete full beam otherwise I find it great.
