I do not use my car regularly and the auxiliary Battery runs flat.  I purchased a new Battery last year and the same thing happens.  I would like to know whether I could connect another 12v car Battery in parallel in order to increase the storage capacity.  Your thoughts, please.

I bought a Ring RSP600 6W Solar Trickle Charger and connected it to the permanent 12V feed in the OBD 2 connector, with it mounted on the dash it supplies enough power to keep the auxiliary Battery topped up.

To answer your question, provided that you have the space, then in theory you can. Ideally you'd need the batteries to be of the same size/capacity, and you'd need to size the connecting cables according to distance and power draw.

That said, the ideal solution is to keep the existing Battery topped up, either with a mains or solar charger, or running the engine every few days.
