RX 400h inner door handle removal

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

Just purchased a replacement drivers side door card but I am stumped on how to remove the inner door handle assembly from my old door card as I need it to fit to the new one.

There are two screws to remove then I can't see how it can be prised out without breaking the tabs off?

Any ideas?

I'm sure the door handle stays attached to the car when removing the door card, I took one of the rears off and was pretty straight forward, not at home with the car so can't show you..  I think if you remove the felt bit in the arm part there is a screw and another behind the actual handle .

I know what you mean but mine is fixed to the door card. When you remove the door card you disconnect the two cables on the back of the inner handle but the handle stays on the door card. I think it has some horrible melted plastic rivets that need removing first to then remove the inner handle. Very bad idea.

I've just had a look at one off a car, there are 2 screws at the top of the handle on the inside of the doorcard, undo them and pull the handle through the door card and twist it sideways back through the hole leaving it attached to the car. no need to remove cables ... I could be wrong tho lol
