Mk2 Dashboard Lights And Fuel Guage Failure

Having driven 2,500 faultless miles in the last 2 weeks across Europe my Mk2 has

started to suffer from the failing capacitor problem. The first indication was the failure of the fuel guage, then the failure of the dash lights on ignition. After about five minutes the four lights on the needles start flickering and then gradually the lights are restored, although the fuel guage remains on zero. I have checked the forums and it appears the only option is to send the board to the U.S.A for the $250 repair ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...tem=7913617257) Have any owners used this service? Surely there must be someone in the U.K who can offer a similar service?
