Hpi Check On My Car. Milage Descrepency. Help.

Hi all,

I had a HPI done on my car and turns out there is a descrepency on the milage (could be they say). It was to late to check with the milage people. My car was new from a dealer, with a full HPI (looking at it), I have owned it three years, having it serviced at a local dealer. Nothing has been touched on my car (I am lucky, nothing has gone wrong really). HPI told me it could just be a simple mistake. Help! Any ideas of how to approach the milage people tomorrow? My car was bought from Lexus and has only been serviced by Lexus. No work has ever been done to it.

I was selling it to upgrade! Now I must sort this out for the sale to go through!

Tks.

Misty :crybaby:

When I bough my current run-about, I came accross the same problem, but it turned out I'd caused the problem myself by typing estimated milage info into the HPI website - anything that gets entered into HPI is automatically added to the national milage register. When I went back and updated the details with the real milage, it flagged a problem.

It took a couple of phone calls to the milage register folks to sort it out, but it was no hassle and they were able to see all the data I'd added, and removed the incorrect estimate.

Hope this helps

Ian

Thanks Ian. I have been off and got all the MOT's and original Lexus doco's, including the service reports, and it looks like the same could have happened. My cousin got me some private number plates for my car and I think he could have put the mileage in in Kilometres (being Australian!) and sent the docos off to the DVLA. This is all I can think of. Other than that, it is just a data entry mistake. Sounds like it could just be sorted out tomorrow, as Lexus will be able to state the car has not been tampered with (as they know me and the car). Very nervious though, as I need to sell to buy!!
