Help - Alternater/a/c Belt

Stumped.

Alternator belt

When I have loosened the adjusting bolt on the alternater - it does not allow me to move the alternator to slacken the belt. The bolt itself is just "rising" away from the bracket.

Do I have to loosen the other bolt that is under/behind the middle of the adjusting bolt ?

A/C Belt.

Same problem - I have undone the adjusting bolt on the tensioning pully, but the bolt just "rises" away from the bracket as you undo it, rather than the pulley lowering and slackening the belt.

Only thing I can think here is that I need to loosen the bolt through the middle of the pully. Or hit it to loosen it

No pics as at work and some f***kers taken the camera home.

Not sure about the Lex one as I have never looked but most alternators have 2 bolts underneath that it pivots on. You will been to slacken them back slightly to get it to move.

Don't know about the A/C belt tensioner.

Sorted the alternator now. It was the underneath bolt.

Stil need to know about the A/C tensioning pully.

It looks like you have to lossen the nut on the pulley, but some b******* has snarled up so cannot get anything on it. Must have been Leeds Lex or More Than mid 2004. B*******.

Anyway, just need someone to confirm the pulley nut needs loosening.

Got it sorted.

You do have to loosen the nut on the pulley to adjust the tensioner.

Thank heavens some one invented a gator grip socket.

Had to take out the fan housing assembly though just to get the blinking socket and wrench in.

Might put up the pics and a how to do it - seen as know one knows :shifty:
