I guess it is time to give it a decent change.

But knowing my luck if I remove the belly pan cover, I will either lose the bolts or strip some threads.

Is it possible to get to the filter and drain plug from below without removing the whole cover.

Where abouts underneath are the filter and drain plug? All the tutorials show the cover removed so it makes things a little trickier to see where things are with the cover on.

Yes, you can change the oil without removing the engine cover. The pan drain plug is obviously accessible. To get to the filter, just remove 2 bolts on the (--corrected after skraggy_uk note below) LEFT side rear of the cover. It is designed so it can be folded down to access the filter.

When you say drivers side, do you mean left hand side? I'm in the UK so drivers side is on the right.

Do you need to jack it up to get to them, or can the filter and drain be reached from the side?

I drive mine onto ramps for easy access to the drain plug and oil filter - I think it's a bit too tight, otherwise.
