Car Keys Battery

Hi,

I have a problem with my car keys, i didnt realise at the time but the person who had the car before me as somehow resealed the casing for the keys, there is no visible screw(s) at all on the key. All i want to do is to change the Battery. I have foned lexus up and they are asking over 200 quid jst to do a replacement key including the programming and what not! I asked about a Battery change and its only like 7 quid but i told them of the situation they said there should be a screw there. Does anyone have any ideas as to what can be done?? I can still use the key, but just the Battery is really low so i cant use the buttons most of the time.

even if the screw is not there the case can still be difficult to open - are you 100% sure it is sealed closed? there would be no reason to this

Answer:

buy a replacement empty fob off eBay for about a fiver, and have it cut for a few quid..

open your fob, replace the Battery, and put the inside into the new fob.

Also works for a snapped key...

Another option is to add a second hand genuine Lexus key, if yours is lost or doesn't work..

use the new casing, transfer the insides and reprogram to your car.
