Help Needed To Find Realistic Computor Simulation

I need forumites help. I am a doctor who treats people with hand and arm injuries. I want to study how well people drive with a plaster cast on their arm, without putting them in a real car. I have found a new steering wheel and pedal for driving games that is meant to be quite realistic in its feel and feedback. Now I need to find a driving game for PC that has most realistic urban driving. I am not looking for racing or crashes. I am looking for something that has urban driving with stops and starts and hazards such as a pedestrian walking into the road. Since you are all computer savvy, I thought I would enlist your help.

Thanks

Hi Doc, do not know of any real world driving simulator, which sounds like what you need. Try another track - the DVLA driving test fetures a theory section in which the tested candidates are asked to react to the specified hazards in a timely way. There may well be driving simulators aimed at learner drivers that can be "played" on a PC, and thus do what you need for your research. The DVLA test features excellent real world footage of normal driving on UK roads and the usual range of hazards.

I agree, hazard perception is probably the way to go but it's not going to provide any physiotherapy - it's more reactions - albeit clicking a mouse. Going out hugely on a limb here, ridiculous as this may sound, the closest I can think of is Grand Theft Auto 4. Okay maybe not the running people over, drive by shooting and so on, but in the game it's a realistic city scenario with traffic lights, motorway, pedestrians and reacting to cars doing real-world things.

Silly as that suggestion sounds, it's as close as I can come.
