Ved 'road Tax'

i wanted to find out if this was true. apparently road tax is going up, currently i am paying £210 for 12 months for the auto. but when i need to renew it will up to £245. also, manual transmission IS250 will be going up to £400 source autoexpress

The points to note are:

1) If you have the manual, then it will cost same as a couple of extra tankfulls of petrol worth per year

2) If you have the Auto then great. If you don't have the auto, buy one hehehe

This will only get worse. As time goes on, next few years, what levels of VED we see at 225g/c02 will come down to 150g/c02. Everyone will be hit hard unless they buy Toyota IQ's!

It also depends on when your car was regsitered. Your Tax will be cheaper if your car was registered before 23rd March 2006.

Thankfully mine was Dec 2005

Gunther made the comment, " This will only get worse ". I agree.

The government is borrowing billions and billions of pounds, it's got to be clawed back from somewhere, co2's are an easy target at the moment. When manufacturers reduce them the goalposts will be moved and they will find something else to the tax, how about the amount of air an internal combustion engine consumes?
