Blocking 2nd Gear

Hi Lexus owners,

I've bought a 2007 IS220d currently with a three year Premium Warranty. Pretty happy with the car (exept for the fuel consumtion, but I read a lot about this) but I'm experiencing some problems with the transmission, especially the 2nd gear.

Probably I'm not experienced enough yet for the Lexus transmission, but I like to hear your opinion:

Sometimes when I switch back from 3th gear to the 2nd gear, it blocks completely. I'm not able to select the 2nd gear, whatever I try.

I must first switch back to 3th or 1st and then back to 2nd to succeed.

This happens especially when I must switch back fast from 3th to 2nd. Mostly when I switch back slowly everthing works fine.

Is this something for the dealer to look after or is this normal behaviour (which I can't imagine).

Thanks,

JDN

Yes, this was my presumtion, but want to be sure this is abnormal (because my dealer can say: you're not using the gear the right way).

I also asked my dealer recently to check my fifth injector because I've read on this forum there were modifications made to this part that reduces the fuel consumption. His blunt reply was: if this part is broken you'll get an error indication in the dashboard. But I will put this question in another topic.
