Decat Exhaust?

yeah that is with almost every exhaust manifold replacement as the lambda connector is up a bit to high touching stuff, you can get an angle socket for that but you'll have to point it down and extent the lambda cable a bit.

Right the manifold has arrived, to me it looks like the sensor locations are ok, what do you guys think?

cheers m8, just found out though the cat back exhaust which hasnt been delivered yet does not have the sensor hole on the midsection at the end where it connects to the downpipe :/ so im going to have to get somebody to bore a hole and weld a threaded cap on it. any ideas??

you could put them both in the exhaust manifold as it has 2 connectors.... just check that they give a normal reading if yes you can leave them in there ( mine had the hole for the lambda sensor in the cat though so I only had one sensor in the manifold)

I just checked the pictures you put up of the manifold.... and good news they are in very different positions so you can put them both in the manifold they will give correct readings installed that way.

I had the 1999 IS200 SE and no just 2 lambda sensors on it...( but like I said before I had to undo the lot just to make sure the car wasn't messed up by the previous owners with their tuning luckily for me it wasn't). And The OEM had only 2 sensors..

don't think yours has 3 lambda sensors to be honest but check this link to make sure.

PS the website from the link only works with internet explorer, I suggest you put it in your favourites as it is the electronic workshop manual ;)

yeah cheers m8 im quite familiar with the bahamnut workshop manual, it seems to be the only place on the net where its available! yeah i think you may be right, i think the sensor im talking about (bank 2 sensor 1) is only on the is300. anyways the cat back came today! the box was a bit battered tho :/ and there was a little dint in the exhaust tip but for 90 quid delivered im not that fussed! heres some pics.

by the looks of the dent you can easily get it out.... just put the back of a screw driver on it (on the inside off-course) then gently tap the screwdriver with a hammer until the dents gone nothing major really.

Will look awesome when you get it on the car and will sound even better ;)

for 90 quid im not complaining! maybe some pliers with kitchen roll over the teeth might do it. its going in on wednesday to get fitted aswell as a few other little jobs, new gearbox and diff oil, new mintex brake pads, a full geometry on the wheels to sort out inside tyre wear and iv fitted a pipercross panel filter. plus in the post from off eBay is the new style sport grill, and a new nearside headlight as the one i have is green and foggy on the inside. so once all that is out the way i can concentrate on getting the bodywork up to scratch, or the lack of scratched rather!

to fix your problem with the last hole in the pipe, you could buy a socket extension cable for probes lamba on eBay, if you can't find for toyota or lexus can intenarlo with Honda! and once you have the socket is take it to a welding workshop and you will come out cheaper! Greetings and good luck!

Ps: and to tell us as you will when you mount everything! ;)
