Hi again,

just noticed the other night that my 'new' 2007 220d is idling at just over 1K?

is this high for the model or normal? I would have assumed that it would idle at 700-800 revs, but having never owned a diesel before I though I'd ask here...

If its high, what can I do about it and what may be causing it?

Thanks in advance.

I worried about this when I first bought mine..

Tried the AC and various other things, but it turns out for some reason, its the heater. As soon as you set the temperature above something like 21 degrees, the revs increase. Weird really, as ive never had a car do this before.

At least you know that its nothing to worry about though mate.

I asked about this

And I found out that if you run from cold with the heater on it will run about 1200 revs until it reaches temperature then it will run at about 700 to 800 was told this is normal
