Could it be the temperature you have it set to relative to the outside temperature... in this hot weather, my re-circ is switching on more and more often by itself to get the temperature in the car down. Had the car into Lexus to get dash rattles fixed. Turns out the sensor for the air-con needed replacing TudorDoc

I have a new shape GS300, 12 months old but new to me 2 months ago. Only 4k on the clock The climate control seems to have stopped switching from circulate when stationary and external on moving, to recirculate all the time. I have tried setting the sensitivity of the filtering to minumum. No change. Has anyone had this happen to their GS? Thanks TudorDoc

I found this whilst browsing The url for images is http://www.wikihow.com/Override-Lexus-Navigation-Motion-Lock How to Override Lexus Navigation Motion Lock Lexus Models with the navigation package disable access to several useful navigational functions when the car is moving. While this motion-lock safety feature is OK for a driver alone, there are times when you may want your passenger to have the ability to enter addresses and get directions while in motion. If the steps below are followed, the NAV functions will be available until you shut down the car. Steps 1. Push MENU Button on bezel. 2. Tap the VOLUME soft button. 3. Tap top left of screen (where the speaker icon is), then the bottom left, then top left again, and finally the bottom left again. Be aware that you will receive no visible or audible feedback while doing this. 4. If the above is done correctly, the Service Menu will appear. 5. Press and hold the Override soft button until it beeps and is highlighted. 6. Press the BACK button to return to your nav screen. Tips * These steps must be repeated if the car has been shut down since the last procedure. Warnings * Be safe -- only use this when a passenger can safely input addresses; otherwise, please pull over and do this from the side of the road or in a parking lot.

I have a Sony MP3 player. I do not think I could get the iPod integration. At present I have a cassette adapter. For reasons that are not clear, the volume has to be racked up considerably - which I did not have to do when I used the same adapter and MP3 player in my old IS200. It strikes me that all I really need is a line-in point to the audio system fed to the cupholder compartment. Are there input sockets on the back of the radio that could take the ends of a lead from the MP3 player. It would be a small matter to feed from the back of the radio to the cupholder I would have thought TudorDoc

HAve you had the unit installed? What was the cost? I was wondering that since I have a Sony MP3 player, I would be happy to have the power and line in lead put through to where the cupholders are in the central console. I wonder if that would make installation easier than getting the leads into the glovebox TudorDoc

I am about to buy a new shape ex-demo GS300. I would like to put the Vais auxiliary Input Adapter as you have shown. Although vasstech do not ship outside the US I have a friend in New York who could take delivery and then send onto me My question is how easy is it to get to the "audio harness" to plug in the adapter as shown on the website? Is this something I can easily do or do I need to ask my Lexus dealer to do it. Thanks TudorDoc

Before selling your nearly new IS200 you might want to consider this... I did not feel the IS200 to be running to maxiaml smoothness and quiteness for a year at least. HAve you considered changing your tyres. I think I started with Bridgestones and when I changed to Michelin the roiad noise went down My Is200 is now 6 years old and the problem is that it is quiet and rattle free, so I am not sure why I need to get a new IS250 TudorDoc

Does Voltmeter Indicate I Need A New Battery
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
I am going to get a battery next week my self, was thinking about popping over to Costco, now will definately. Can you tell me though, when changing the battery is there any code that is lost in the stereo as I did not get an owners manual with my car, i realise the presets will go but I am worried about the code.... I did not have a power pack. The radio lost its presets but did not need a code putting in. When you go to Costco the battery for the IS200 is not listed under Lexus. You need the 6DA which has the Lexus IS200 listed on the lable under Toyota!! You need 10mm spanner as well TudorDoc -

I have been through the foglight saga on my 2000 IS200. I bought foglights off eBAy for £118 a pair. CAme from Hong Kong but originally from Japan! Were in perfect condition. I needed 10mm ratchet spanner, dental mirror and small hands to replace lights. You do need to ease the wheelarch trim to get to the connector for the bulb All done and cheaper than the £400 quoted by Lexus main dealer. Hope this helps TudorDoc

Does Voltmeter Indicate I Need A New Battery
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
Thanks I phoned Halfords who listed two batteries, one of which is "heavy duty" but not in stock. Do I need the "heavy duty" one TudorDoc -
My IS200 is 6 years old. I noticed recently that the car was sluggish on starting on cold mornings. Also the headlight intensity increased when I revved the engine! I went away for a week and on my return the battery was flat. I have charged it up and now the cars starts ok. The voltmeter reads around 15v most of the time. Do I need a new battery or should I get the alternator checked? Thanks Tudordoc

Did you get this resolved? When I had owned my IS for about a year I got the erro problem. I did get the CDs ejected by taking out and puttingback the fuse that contols the audio. Now my IS is nearly 6 years old I am getting the same problem again. I doubt my warrenty will cover a replacement. I hope I do not need a new CD changer. I might give up on CDs, buy an iPod and use a cassette adapter to play music Tudor Doc

Need New Front Foglights For Is200
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
← What was the cost of the service out of interest? ← The service itself cost £228 for labour. However the bill then went on to cover skimming front discs, replacing front and rear brake pads, replacing 2 caster arms and replacing off side front shock absorber TudorDoc -
Need New Front Foglights For Is200
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
The problem is the the bulb is corroded into/onto the fitting and I cannot get it out. The inside of the lamp is somewhat opaque with debris floating around. I guess that its gone too far for the Halfords solution I am thinking of buying a replacement pair off eBay that are in Hong Kong but come from Japan originally TudorDoc -
Need New Front Foglights For Is200
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
Now managed to get old light out and found bulb well and truly corroded. I took pictures of the fitting so I can check that replacement one will fit. Thought I'd put it back in while getting replacement sorted - not easy even with a ratchet spanner If the eBAy listing does not work out, is there a UK supplier of Lexus parts that anyone can recommend Thanks TudorDoc -
Need New Front Foglights For Is200
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
I tried to take the plastic plug off but could not get it off. The instructions in the handbook are not very clear. Does the plug pull off or slide off How easy is it to remove the bumper?! Surely I still need to unplug the fogs to get the bumper free? TudorDoc -
Need New Front Foglights For Is200
TudorDoc replied to TudorDoc's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
Unplugging the back is not easy when the bulb seems to be corroded onto the fitting. I guess I need to undo the plastic lining in the front arch to get best access. How do you get the screws back in? Is there a special round-the-corner widget that I need? I've looked on eBay and cannot find anyone selling front fog lights hence my need to find a lexus parts supplier Thanks TudorDoc
