  1. Is that all 3 pedals and the foot rest?

    Yeah its for the 4.

Jesus, that seems a lot for what they are. Might be better finding a breakers yard with a sport in?

Yeah its pretty steep, i'm going to try Lexus Liverpool, they where £60 cheaper than the £200 Chris said for the replacement key. Will see what they have to say........

  2. This is my stereo which i fitted a few weeks ago, its the Alpine IVA200RI, seems top spec so far and still loving it, was a bit of a problem to fit as the amp had to be removed and shorted severl things but got it all fixed no problem.

a few pics to gander at

fitted ( without the insert surround part which had to be modified slightly to fit better )

That looks really good, i want one, what does it lool like with the screen closed tho?

  3. Hi there,

Ive lowered my IS twice now, once was -30mm on springs and had no problem with the ride, still really comfortable, not far after i decided that it was not enough and had to go even lower. i brought a set of adjustable coilovers from matt. Again im not sure exactly how low it now sits but you can judge for yourself(You have to forget about comfort as the ride is now really stiff and you feel every bump, but there is no bodyroll and handles like it was on rails) :D

I beleive there are some pictures in my registry(garage) of when it was just on lowering springs.

    That's low, looks fantastic.

You're car's really clean, did you clean and polish it up yourself? Really good...

  4. There are replacements for side indicator if you've done away with the orange bit inside the h/light you can get silver ones that flash orange....or do you mean the ones on the side of the wing in which case you can use LS ones which are clear lenses with the silver/flash orange bulbs.

Silvertec i think they are called

I've gor clear ones on the wing, i just think they look a bit boring.

  5. I got one off that guy Auto LEd design on ebay, but they aint that great. Not very bright. There should be 3 interior bulbs. 2 near your windscreen and one on the roof for when your doors open. I have some i can send ya. Most LED sites do them. Check in the Audio section for some of my posts about dash LEDs , some

    one has some links there

Not bothered about the ones in the visors, just the one in the roof that comes on when the door opens!

I'll have a look but if they're not that bright........... :tsktsk:

Ill take a pic of mine in the morning and stick it up so you know what to look for. The one i have is an LED bulb

    Cool, thanks!

Where did you get it from?

  7. Well i went and got the autoleads wirign adapter and butchered it for my new DVD head unit.

    Got it all working.

DVD works (i think the TV works cant get a signal where i live)

USB port plays mp3's and lets me view pics,

CD.s Play and the Radio Works.

Its all nice with Blue Leds, It sounds fine. the screen is nice.

    Just one big problem.

    I dont like it.

Blue leds dont look nice with the orange setup of the Car.

Not sure if i really want a screen now. I liked the standard unit with changer and although i cant play MP3 CD's or backup cd's id rather have that than the new shiny sparkly one.

I got the screen to play MP3's and such but to be honest I think im going to stick with the Standard head unit.

    Anyone else had this?

on a plus note i have a 6.5 TV/DVD/CD/FM doubl din head unit complete with IS200s Connections for sale.

    Got any pics???

  8. I used to have Eibach lowering springs -30mm drop. Didn't affect ride quality at all. Was very happy with them :D

I've now got TTE coilovers fitted and very happy with them too. The ride can be a bit harsher on really bumpy roads but other than that don't really notice much difference. Apart form the handling is much better :D

How low is it now then -50mm? Not cheap tho!!

  9. drilled discs will give no performance improvement, infact most, aftermarket "performance" drilled discs crack

all the drillings will do is increase pad wear....oh, and look nice

however ive heard nothing but good reports regarding the dba discs

They do look good tho! :D

Any idea how long you could expect them to last before cracking?

    Whats a dba disc?

    Thanks.....

  10. I've just put my new blue lights in the doors thanks to Mike and now i want to change the interior bulb to a blue to match, i've managed to get the cover off but i've never seen a bulb that looks like it before, are there blue ones out there that's a straight replacement?

    Thanks again.......

  11. Well, my cambelt's getting sorted on tuesday, i'm getting my brake discs and pads done in january when the xmas shopping's done and when i finally get round to chosing either drilled or grooved discs(seperate thread).

The next thing on my list thanks to lexus' safety check is to get my leaking shock sorted, which means i've got an excuse to get it lowered (might as well as my shock needs changing eh!)

So now i'm thinking go for a -50mm drop as it sits so high as standard, so can anyone that's had their's dropped tell me how much it has affected the ride since you have had it droppped?

For the-50mm drops> is the ride too uncomfortable?

For the-30mm drops>are you kicking yourself for not going for that extra few mm??

and what springs/shocks do you recommend?

    Cheers all........

  12. Seeing as my free(which is actually going to cost a few hundred pounds) safety check at Lexus told me i need new discs and pads i was just wondering what people could recommend me to buy? Is it worth coughing up for an expensive set of drilled disks or just stick to your standard Kwik Fit ones?

    Thanks......Stu.

  13. before your go to the cost of replacing the discs, measure them yourself for thickness......

new they are 32mm and are supposed to be changed when it's down to 30mm :) this is in relation to the front discs ok

    Cheers, will check...

"The safety report highlighted that the water pump was leaking, and the front pads were 70% worn"

Why would pads being 70% worn qualify as a safety problem anyway? They're not worn out till they're 100% worn. Now while leaving it that long is probably daft (unless you're in the habit of checking them every weekend) there is certainly no need to panic and change them immediately, there will be several thousand miles left in them...

Reminds me of when I took a (company) Passat to Kwik Fit in Plymouth after it's 80k service, to have two new rear tyres put on. As part of the main-dealer service, the rear shocks had been changed. The fact they'd only been on there a day or so didn't stop Kwik-Fit telling me they were leaking, and should be changed asap!!

    Mike

It was an Amber on their traffic light system meaning they would need changing soon.

Oh and they also said one of the shocks was showing signs of leaking, at least i've got an excuse to get it lowered properly in the not to distant future...

  14. "The safety report highlighted that the water pump was leaking, and the front pads were 70% worn"

Funny that because they told me the same thing, water pump leaking and pads 70% worn only difference they said the disks as well!!! Conicidence??

No one on here is claiming they know more than a dealer but how can they justify charging £170 more than an independant garage(one i've trusted since i started driving).

I'm sure i can get my disks and pads done cheaper as well...

The question is would a Lexus dealer check the cambely on a safety check? I suggest not :(

Well yeah they did, they showed me and to be fair to them it was showing signs of wear so i am getting it done, but not with the dealer, too expensive.
