I've heard the michelin PS3s and vredestein ultrac sessantas are probably the best tyres about at the mo - I still think the goodyears I have are fantastic when it's warm but they didn't react well during the cold winter we just had so can't recommend them anymore :)

I like the look of the Vredesteins and the fact that reveiws seem to indicate they are comfortable and quieter. Will have to shop around to see what I can get them for.

Do you mean valve stems or valve caps?

If you dont like the look of black valves, you can get a chrome plastic cover which slides over the top to tidy it up a bit. Failing that, you should be able to put on a 15mm stubby valve so its not as noticable!

I meant valve stems as the wheels have no valves having been recently refurbished.

That looks like a really nice job, and like the reflective surface - make sure to get some pics of them in the sun once you get them on the car :)

Might be sometime before I fit them as I hope to have the car resprayed before I do so. Actually the pictures do not do them justice as I think they will look better under the right lighting conditions.

Had two incidents where someone keyed the car and also dented the drivers door. I have also noticed some chips on the bonnet and front bumper as well. I have been quoted £700 to do the offside, bonnet, front and rear bumpers. The guy who will do it used to have an IS200 himself. Any recommendations on tyres??

I am not in a hurry as I have two sets of these and will need to shift one set in the future.

Pristine Wheels have recommended that I do not fit metal valves to my newly refurbished wheels as they will create a reaction with the alloys. What are peoples opinion about this piece of advice???

Do you still have your IS? Only today I finally managed to get that alloy I bought from you repaired. I now have a set of five. Have to find some tyres now.

Cost me the same overall really so no difference, £200 for the wheels and then another £200 to refurb them after I flatspotted 2 of them in a pothole the day after I fitted them!

That's quite a difference in the refurb price, but makes sense if they were in the same area and pristine wheels do have a good reputation.

Of course the price is for five wheels. The four I bought on eBay and one I had at home.

god damn vandalism! never understood the point on scratching peoples cars..... you should find their bike and snap the handle bars in two to let them know how it feels!! Nice car and nice allows Mmmmm.... same colour as mine too!

That side was facing the pavement when it was done. So someone deliberately keyed it.

Any idea on how much a set of these usually go for?

It really varies, I got mine for £200 which I thought was cheap, but as this thread has proved you can get them a lot cheaper!

Yeah £50 wasn't bad at all. Will cost me about £350 to refurb 5 wheels, 2 of which has flat spots. Brand new genuine Lexus ones are just under £800 for a set of four. And Parthiban before you say it I know I could have possibly got it done cheaper at BJV Engineering but chose Pristine Wheels as I know they refurb wheels for Lexus and the vendor was located in that area anyway. Can't wait to see what they will look like. Will be ready on Wednesday but I can only collect on Saturday, so will post some photos on Saturday.

I have finally decided on a metallic silver as opposed to the flat silver. Will post some pics once they are done.

Well the alloys were picked up by Pristine Wheels this morning from the vendor who is located in that area and they say they are in good nick but one has a slight dink on the inner rim. So what should I do with these?? Keep the colour stock standard or go for another finish. My car is Strathcaron Blue. Any ideas welcomed.

I could not believe it when I saw it. It had only been listed for 30mins or so. I was actually looking for a spoiler when I came across it. I am getting them refurbed then will decide what to do with them as I already have a set but could not pass that up.
