OK little follow up. Just took out the battery and found it to be very low and in need of charging. I did also notice that the on auto the lights stay on and the car is saying that a door is open, when I checked them all and they are shut, boot and bonnet too.

OK I'm not technical so please bare with me. Parked up the car last night, nothing unusual, locked with the fob, OK and I went in. Came out this morning, unlocked the car, with the fob and noticed it took a second or two for the lights to blink. Went to start the car, the alarm went off. Hit the lock on the fob, after a short pause the car alarm stopped and car locked but no lights blinked Tried it a few times lock, unlock, and the same. When unlocking the car there is a pause then the lights blink and the car unlocks, lock it, no blink but I can hear it lock. If I put the key in the ignition, the security light goes out as normal, but the alarm goes off if I start the car, but turns off after 10secs. I also noticed that there is a capital 'E' where my temperature should be and the fuel gauge is reading empty with the petrol light blinking like a madman, although I know I have about half a tank. Changed the battery in my fob, no change. Checked the petrol filler hole and wiggled the white collar inside, no change. It's almost like the car thinks about unlocking then does but doesn't switch off the alarm. Any ideas at all please? :(

I have the same noise. I have just had a head gasket and complete timing kit done on my IS 200. It has around 138000 on the clock. It is really annoying as it didn't do it before the head went. The mechanic said that the engine was full of treacle, this was the oil as it wasn't changed for 4 years :( Not happy with it at all. I have had another mech look at it. He has confirmed that the car should be running quieter, and has said the that there is adjustment in there, but the mech that did the work has said they can be adjusted. So, has anyone had any luck?

I think the general handling is good, But what does annoy me is the really poor acceleration. I must say it's got to be the worst car for this I have ever owned. It's quite bad when you can be beaten of the lights by Saxos :(

Sure sorry. The Blue/Yellow stripe wire is the power wire the Red/White linewire is the ground wire. the other 3 are to do with th alarm, but I didnt ask about them. I connect my tv yellow wire to the power wire the blue the ground wire and the red was screwed to the car body. Hope this helps.?

No I ment standard plug on the interior light. Standard as in they are all the same in the Lexus IS 200.

Ok will do. Didn't get any instructions with tv, as it was already in the car. I also thought the plug was just a standard one?

Hi Guys Well the IS200 I bought has a 10" drop down lcd where the courtsey light was. The tv has 2 lights in it that need connecting. Now I have found what I presume is the light plug and it has 5 wires, from left to right. Red/White line White/Black stripe Green Blue/Yellow stripe Green/Orange Stripe. The TV has 3 wires Red Blue Yellow. So before I cut the plug can anyone give me some help please? Thanks in advance. Luke

I had a look at mine tonight, and it is definatly a fitted panel for reducing it to take a single din. I will take a picture tomorrw to show you. I also have to go to halfords tomorrow, so I will enquire and let people know.

I wouldn't imagine so, as long as your Aristo is normal size I would imagine that a universal one would suffice.

I have a Kenwood KTV920DVD in my dash. It is a single size unit. It was in the car when I bought it. Goto Halfords and ask for a reducer plate. Mine looks like it has been bought,not made. It has a single size hole and a another underneath, for storage. When I get my car back from the spray shop I will take a pic.

When I bought my car it had some nasty staining on the suede parts. Does anyone know of a way of getting heavy stains off of it? I have tried the suede shoe cleaner, but it didn't touch it.

Get a private Mech to do it, unless its a warranty requirment. Im having the Cambelt, tensioner, and all my suspension changed back to the OEM, oil change and oil filter. For £100, I supply the parts.

Just noticed that my traction control and snow button don't light up at nihgt. Are they ment to? If so where do I get the replacment bulbs from? Is Lexus the only place? Thanks guys.
