Any idea about what's the deal in the UK Mat?
-
You might be right Zee - maybe Chris S can put us straight?
-
yup - and a wash apparently!!:bounce:

My last car was an Accord V-TEC - damn fine car but not in the same game as a Lexus (sorry hubby)
:(

I bet that little weasly smelly ***is gonna win it:lol:

Actually guys - the warrannty thing is only strictly true in the UK (and possibly EC).
It's illegal to void a warranty in the US unless the warranty holder can prove that the modification was directly the cause of any problem. So (for instance, Lexus could not void the warranty on the gearbox for fitting an aftermarket exhaust etc etc).

Very nice Stevo!

This occaisionally happens to me too - it has ALWAYS been the bonnet sensor - give it a good slam.

Hiya
Prolly would be a problem cos I'm in th UK and one of us would have to go around with no foglights while they're in transit:tumble:

Thanks Mat - I knew you'd have the answer!!

Does anyone know what kind of paint I can use to touch up the stock grill on my GS300-2 - it's like a grey sorta fleck paint??
-
It's encouraging to know that some things don't change. 20 years ago I used to be able to do anything to a car - nowadays I look under the bonnet and it's all pipes and electronics!
In the good ole days, you used to be able to fix most problems with a "bop and twiddle"!!
-
Swap it for a GS430:lol::lol:Your dad will prolly notice - but I bet he won't mind.

The reasons the yellow shells are impossible to remove without breaking is that they are glass shells that are bonded to the inside of the foglamp housing. On a GS, if you want white foglamps, you have to smash the yellow shells to little bits and shake all the bits out - there's no way to get them out whole.
There seems to be lots of aftermarket lights that look clear when off and go a different colour with light behind (like the rear lights on a IS) - maybe you could get some yellow stuff that does the same - it must be a film or paint or summunk??
(Thanks for the offer of the clear ones - I can always make mine clear though by removing the shells - just a case of getting round to it).
Cheers:tumble:

Does it "hunt" - speed up and slow down by very small amouns when idling. In my old "carbuerettor days" this was due to timing and/or mixture problems.
Might be worth getting it tuned??

It's funny how operating systems are built that demand more and more resources. There was a trend about a year ago in corporates of retro-loading WFW 3.11 onto networked machines, on the grounds that most user don't need anything like the functionality of most modern OSs and apps.
My wife uses a clunky old P75 with win3 on it, and it boots shedloads quicker than my Athlon2000 with 98, ATA100 and RAID on it!!
-
Sound like maybe your idle speed is a little low??, what's the revcounter saying??
-
I guess it's gotta be something in the gearbox or the clutch itself Chris - best get it checked out mate.

Did anyone see Terry Venables on the telly last night?
When asked how he thinks we're gonna do he said "extremely averagely"!!
-
Pretty car!!
What about tinting the inside of the lenses??
Trust me, you're never gonna get the GS shells - the ONLY way to get them off is to destroy them.
Are they exactly the same as the GS?? - like I say - I might be willing to swap if they are (I like white foggies).
