I've come across it a few times now.
It sounds like the "Door Lock Reciever Unit" has gone down, which is situated behind the rear shelf.
If it is that the only thing you can do is to have your local Lexus dealer replace it

Nice to have you back Les

Having the bleeper on could stop you having a costly repair
It's quite easy when selecting 1st in a hurry to select reverse by mistake !
The bleeper can warn you before you let the clutch out

According to the manual the windscreen wiper heater is operated by pressing the rear window defogger and then the both then work simultaneously for 15mins before automatically switching off.
The mirrors on cars before 2001 are heated all the time,I checked this was right with Lexus because I burnt my finger on one last summer.Lexus said this was right because forms part of the rain repellent system

I've taken a brand new set of geniune Lexus accessory mudflaps and had them professionally sprayed
I'm sorry but I don't have access to a digital camera !
Because the mudflaps are contoured to the body of the car it is not possible to to fit them with body skirts

9500 miles now with loads still left on them

I got a email back from "Superchips" today which read
"Thankyou for your enquiry regarding Superchips, unfortunately we cannot offer a conversion for the IS200 due to the nature of ECU/Ignition system"

Is there anybody in the UK who does powerchips ?

Several chips on the bonnet
at least two of them happened within 48 hours of picking the car up new from the dealer

I spoke to one of the main Lexus GB aftersales guys the other day,and yes you are right there are two or three IS200 that LGB have fitted but they have had problems where excessive heat has caused paint on the bonnets to blister
Lexus GB will be importing TTE parts in the near future but I don't know when
I will keep people posted when I hear some more

Sorry !
I'll try and keep the noise down
