  1. There's a 20A fuse called "Radio1" in the fuse box in the engine bay just in front of the Battery.

A fuse called "Radio2" in the drivers kick well fuse box.

The electrical wiring diagram workshop manual is among the ones found here - manuals

From that it looks as though the following are some items associated in some way with the Radio2 fuse :-

Satnav, clock, wireless door locks, windows, interior light, mirrors, shift lock, a/c control, body ecu.

Seems quite a lot but that's just from looking at the car wiring diagrams and probably not taking all their power from there.

Hope that's of some help :shifty:

  2. Most OEM HID lamps are 4300K because that colour temperature gives the most usable light. B)

Lower than that goes more Yellow, higher goes a bit more White around 6000K then more Blue and more Purple. :yack:

Some people go more for colour than light output, hence the 8000K, 10000K and so on.

  3. The L badge in the middle comes off easy enough.

The text 'sport' is a bit tricky though. That's stuck to a similarly sized plate.

You can get the text off but the little plate bit is bonded to the mesh.

It's as if it's been stuck there before all being painted / enamelled or whatever it is.

So pretty difficult to remove cleanly without wrecking it all.

I think determined people just change the mesh altogether which is a bit tidier :shifty:

    Hope that helps.

  4. Not wishing to insult but should we start with some basics.

Are there any discs in it to play ? It's a 6 disc changer and you have to 'load' them in it first.

Not just shove a disc in the slot - that won't work.

Press the 'Load' button briefly and lights at end of slot go green and should then tell you to load a disc.

Only then stick the disc in the slot.

Sorry if that's obvious but thought best check as common error to just shove the disc in the slot

    Hope it helps.

  5. How about "Lexus Insurance".

I'd been with CIS for many years with modded cars including my IS200.

Then in 2005 switched to these who halved my premium. All mods declared in full.

Now stuck with them. It's a Lexus so may as well have them insure it too

In to my 40's now age wise though so that may help too

    Here's the free no. for them 0800 138 3200

Just checked it still works as looking on recent paperwork there's an 0845 no. instead :shifty:

Open 8am to 8pm Mon to Fri and 8am to 4pm Sat.

    Hope that's useful.

  6. Not entirely sure which info you want but to get to language selection screen :-

    1) Press the "MENU" button to display the "Main menu" screen and select "Navi option".

    2) Select "Set up".

    3) Here you can select desired language etc.

    4) Select "Finish".

Changing language only changes the voice, not display etc.

As mentioned above part no. and version no. are printed on the disk - the genuine ones anyway :shifty:

Otherwise you can get some disk info in the diagnostic mode as follows :-

    1) With ignition in accessory position and audio system off switch on satnav and go through welcome screen.

    2) Press CD/Disc button 3 times while holding radio preset buttons 1 and 6 pressed at the same time.

    3) Select "Disk information" from the "Diagnosis" menu you now have displayed.

Obviously this is only relevant to the standard audio system.

Switch it off again when you're done.

I think that should pretty much cover it B)

PS - this all works on my 2001 car but not sure about the later ones

  7. Welcome to the club. There's 2 trip meters.

The button in the dash as you push it goes through Overall mileage , Trip A , Trip B then back to Overall mileage.

To reset a trip meter, select trip A or B as above then hold the button in for a few seconds and will go to zero.

    Hope that helps.

  8. Well here's some luck. I happen to have both standard items from my 2001 IS200 handy at the moment. :duh:

The oil cap looks fine - the quite popular "TRD style".

They're all the same but just with choice of sticker in the middle (inc TRD).

Standard rad cap off my car looks like the "type A" in the link you give.

They have slightly higher pressure - 1.3 Bar rather than the standard 1.1 Bar. So do the real TRD ones :shifty:

    So all looks good.

    Hope that helps
