  1. Average is 27.5 and that's purely in town; sadly my average speed is 6MPH, I think that says a lot for the traffic in London. This weekend is my first chance to take it on a Motorway... Bank Holiday... Hmmm, looks like the average speed won't change then
  2. Ah.. but can it play DVD's ( both Video and Audio types) whilst I'm sat in the car waiting for the missus? :winky: And I don't need to take it with me when I leave the car either :)
  3. Perhaps we could get LOC to arrange a discount for members? :)
  4. Interesting, I get the signal strength with my V3. What are the key differences between the V3 and the V3x ? Just a quick note..... New V3x delivered... still no good with car though. Can I be bothered to pester Orange though
  5. Surely that was just your passenger Maybe a word in the ear of ML, and see if they can come up with a fix.
  6. Interesting, I get the signal strength with my V3. What are the key differences between the V3 and the V3x ? V3x is 3G, fatter, heavier, and uses more power :) From a little research I did yesterday, it would seem that the phones firmware version has a lot to do with what BT functions work..... if any!
  7. Does anyone else ( those who have nav systems ) that the audio level is too low when you have Radio/CD/DVD playing at a level sufficient to rattle the Rear view mirror? It appears that the ladies voice does not track with the overall volume level. Or is it just me?
  8. I can only say that so far.... no problems with mine whatsoever. It's an absolute joy. Perhaps it depends on the day it was made. Not only don't buy a Friday afternoon car etc. Only get one made on Wednesday around 11.00am
  9. I have a Samsung D600 and a V3x, also an older V3 ( 12 months ). The Samsung is mine, the other two are company phones. Experience so far... D600 pairs everytime without a problem, phonebook uploads all entries perfectly.. no signal strength or battery level indication, but as it's plugged into power all the time that's not a problem. Other than that it's a great little phone. V3 pairs everytime, but cannot transfer the phonebook. No battery or signal strength. V3x Pain in the ****, won't pair everytime, have to re-register whenever I want to use it. Orange are replacing it today in the hop that will fix it. Battery life is poor, although I suppose it depends how much it's used! Not tried a Sony, but I had 68i once, and swore I'd never have another Sony. Havn't used a Nokia in years so can't comment.
  10. I have this fitted to my car, looks the part against the Ipod too! Splitter Linky Hope that helps. :D Sorry deejaygee, I meant for the DC Aux supply... my fault for not making myself clear. I think I may have found one now, we'll find out when it's delivered. Stupid of Lexus to position the socket too close to the armrest really. Both my phone charger lead and Ipod power lead foul the armrest.
  11. Can anyone point me as to where I can get a splitter for the Aux Socket? Also one small enough in length so not to foul the armrest when closed, as my current phone charger plug does!
  12. I have three phones; 2 are company ones, and only one is mine if you're wondering :) The two company ones are a Motorola V3 & V3x, mine is a Samsung D600. Now, yesterday I picked up my shiny new Lexus.. could I get the Moto's to behave? Could I hell! Yes, I can get them to link to the car, but everytime I restart the car I have to go through the whole Bluetooth pairing sequence again, and yes, Autoconnect is on! Not only that, I couldn't even transfer one entry at a time to the Car. Now the Samsung....... Perfect! Links everytime I turn on, transfered entire directory without problems. I believe the Sony 800 is good too, only problem with that though is a white and orange phone :duh:
  13. I ordered mine March 10th, picked it up yesterday. Excat spec I wanted except colour, which happened to be my second choice anyway. My first choice would have been early June.
  14. She has a 70, I've got the 70s. We like to take pictures of each other (POV) :winky: Really we're off to the far east... so lot's of sight seeing! If you can get one for 275 then I'd grab it fast as that's unbelievably cheap. Is that with lenses? NOT Yeah, SAAB 9.3 Aero... Problem with mine was the Antennae, badly seated so poor ground. Fixed it myself and never had any problems since. I think if anyone gets routed 271 miles out of thier way, they need more than a NAV system! :winky:
  15. I second that.. I keep thinking of borrowing the company van and delibrately causing the next t****r I see talking into a mobile phone whilst driving to collide with me; extreme I know, but it really annoys the s**t out of me! I think it's my pet hate There is no excuse, most mobiles come with a basic earpiece these days, and you can pick up simple hands free kits from petrol stations for about a tenner.
  16. The wife and I have one of each; the 70s just gives you a slightly larger preview screen. The firmware on the 70 can be updated to the 70s to fix the ( alleged! ) focus problems. We're off to give them thier first real test this weekend! Back on topic: As regards recal, my current ( for the next 18 hours ) SAAB had a few calibration problems when I first had it. I travelled along the M4 towards Bristol, hung a left down the M5. The NAV carried straight on into Wales :) Worse then that, when I turned around in Cornwall to head back, it reset itself... to the middle of the English channel. My entire journey back to London was waterborn... according to the NAV system. :P
  17. Nikon D70S, D70 no longer in prod. Even then I think a macro lens would help :) Back on topic:- Can you turn madam off completely? I find I only need her for the last few minutes of any journey, although I do like to have the graphics running etc. When you've a hundred miles to go on the motorway first, I don't need telling to keep right at every slip! I've always wanted to change some of the messages too. Must try copying the DVD and editing the voice files; think of the fun you could have. :winky:
  18. Just found an interesting article.... use a bluetooth enabled laptop to transfer your phonebook to the car. Do this using outlook etc..
  19. Hmmm.... good one, need to find out who makes them.... Research hat on---> Think I've found something, but it'll have to wait until I get my 220 on Friday before I can test it.
  20. It is an offence for the driver to be able to see the screen, hence it's OK for them to be in the headrests for rear passengers. There was a case in Coventry recently where the guy was fined £80 for watching The Invisible Man. He'd already been caught once and had to pay a £30 on the spot fine. He didn't get any points though. As for driving with a mobile in your hand, seems most London Taxi & Bus drivers do it, hence it must be OK. ;)
  21. I was told there is a problem with certain colours being more popular than expected. I accepted my second choice as there was one already on the way with the spec I wanted. Other than that.... it's a long wait.
  22. Just don't let the rozzers ever see it methinks :)
  23. I agree; I'm picking my SE-L up on Friday, all I want for it is a wooden gear knob. Is it a lift type change for reverse, or push through gate? Isn't it an auto? Push through gate. sorry, just saw your profile and noticed it was an Oiler. It's a lift ring... just checked the LOC USA site and read the owners manual; that makes it a little more difficult, but not impossible.

  25. We did a few test drives on the day I decided on the Lexus; Honda, Peugeot, Audi, Lexus & BMW. They were all very helpful and treated us as you would expect, except BMW. We got the feeling THEY were doing us a favour by allowing us in thier showroom; to top that, the salesman we had arranged to see had gone out ( we WERE 5 minutes late after all!), and when he came back, he all but ignored us. I'd already had this sort of experience when I last bought a BMW, but had thought it must be the dealer I used in the midlands, apparently, it applies to more than one dealer. It would seem BMW dealers sell SOO many cars, they can afford to ignore prospective customers. Oh well... it's thier loss, a Lexus gain.
