Another crappy (yet exciting) night on the doors.

We had some black chaps (not being racist, just stating they was black) from out of town, London i think.

Anyway it's kicked off inside the club with them, a scuffle takes place and the main guy hits a doorman over the head with a glass ashtray. We get them outside, but as we're grappling with them the same guy bites a chunk out of another doormans neck! (proper Dracular style).

We have the animal pinned to the floor (waiting for the police to arrive), all seems calm and then his mates start kicking off so it all goes up in the air again.

The police arrive and handcuffed the main guy whilst i help them with some of the mates. As i'm holding one of the mates to the ground so the police could cuff him the dirty ******* animal (who's being taken to the riot van) spits a mouthful of his blood all over the side of my head. I couldn't do anything as i was surrounded by police, and value my door licence too much. I just had to swallow my pride and allow it - i was livid.

We got the usual crap that he's coming back to put a bullet in us. His mate assulted a police officer so i hope they both have a nice night in the cells.

They have sorted a hotel, but ive got to travel.

I'm a doorman 4 nights a week so need to come back each day.

They will contribute to travel expenses, although i don't know how much yet.

Thats a lot of miles :o

Haven't really thought about that mate, i'm quite young so don't know if they'd allow me to hire anyway.

Yeah true, it is going to be a comfy ride. Not too comfy though i hope, i'll only be having 2-3 hours sleep some nights before setting off and don't want to get drowsy!

Caffeine and the music on full blast should help :)

I begin a 6 week training course on Monday which is going to put 270 miles on my car each day - 1350 miles a week!

With other commitments i'll be doing over 1500 miles a week

I only got my 80k service done yesterday, i'll be booking it in for it's 90k service in under 2 months.

Well it cost £284.80 in the end, not too bad. Certainly better than Hatfields quote!

Craig, Did they change your coolant and pollen filter? Hatfield told me they will do both.

I just checked the Service Specification Sheet.

From the check list:

Drain and replace coolant - every 3 years or 40k miles (whichever is sooner) - thereafter 2 years or 20k miles (extra charge - 0.5 hr) - OK

So i presume it was just checked, although OK isn't in the Key (telling you what a tick, cross, A & R indicates)

They replaced the engine oil filter.

They drained and replaced differential oil.

Quite a large check list.

Yep the £284.80 was including VAT and parts.

I didn't have any extras done, just a standard 80k service.

Oh they changed the Battery in my key remote and charged me £5.11 hehe

When they gave me the keys i jumped in the car and noticed a 1 litre top-up oil on my seat... nice gesture i thought, a little pressie from the dealer... when i looked at my bill they'd charged me £11.20 for it LOL.

I thought i was looking at £180'ish! I thought the major services were the 60k and 100k.

Found my bit of paper I was given when I bought my car:

40k - £188

50k - £85

60k - £292

70k - £85

80k - £146

1. Claim on insurance & lose my no claims bonus (which is very important to me as ive only just turned 20yrs old)

2. Don't claim on insurance, and pay for the repairs myself (which i can't really afford now)

3. Any other suggestions?
