Oh and may i add that Lexus paint is ridiculously thin! :tsktsk:
-
To cut a long story short, i came back from town to find my 99 IS200 SE in the carpark needing:
Drivers doorskin
Arch liner
Drivers side front wing
Absolutley gutted, no CCTV either.
Will i need to get it repaired at a Lexus dealer?
Will i need original Lexus parts?
Any help/info with prices or advice will be greatly appreciated

Just happened to me too.

Sorry about the double posting, it chucked up an error so i tried again.

I cannot comment, as i have not seen it in the flesh. From the pics it looks stunning though IMO.
Each to their own.
Hi Snazy, long time no speak!

We had an event on at the club last night, and as i approached the club there was a nice black Lexus IS200 Sport (Y reg). It had Lazerlight International stickers up the side so i knew it belonged to the company doing the event. Anyhow it was supercharged, and the chap reackons it was done by Lexus, apparently 1 of 6 in the country.
I think he mentioned it had been chipped etc too, not sure in the truth of any of this.

OK, we all know that internet usage at work is costing firms millions every year. I know many of you use LOC at work and we must be costing up there in the thousands.
However, do you know how much having a poo costs your company? You do now:

99 V IS200 SE, 70k service.
Cheers Simon, directions were spot on mate.
Service went ok, brake fluid was really dark so they said it needed replacing. Cost £226.67 in total - and being a GOLD MEMBER saved me around £30 :D
Water pump has leaked at some point, was told to keep an eye on it.
Front disks need skimming on replacement but they said it can wait till the 80k service.
Rear shock (O/S) is leaking, but are usually replaced in pairs so said it would be best to wait till the 80k service. I can't remember exactly how much, but i was told new shocks will cost £320 or similar - will it be more beneficial to me to by uprated non factory shocks?
Hope the water pump holds out, the technician told me it'll take around 3 hours to replace, at £80+ VAT for labour + the price of the pump Ive just gotta keep checking my temp, coolant level and radiator.
Nice place, felt very at home. Craig Brown was a nice man, helpful.

I'd be up for the group buy on the demon eyes also!

Whats the best way to get their from Beds (Ampthill)?
I'm pretty cack with directions so talk English please
Going for my 70k service on my 99 SE, quoted £190 inc VAT.
Ive heard good things about Oxford, i was pretty dissapointed yesterday when i rung up to book the service, i was told the service dept was busy and would call me straight back... they didn't, so i called again today. Lets hope all goes well with the service :)

After looking at the first pic i thought to myself 'i never knew Barry from Eastenders drove a Lexus'

It's happened twice now in the last week or so, im pulling off in 1st gear then all of a sudden it feels like something is holding the car back and feels extremley slow. When it happens i get one of my dash lights come on, it's the one inbetween the airbag light and the 'TRAC OFF' light - a picture of a car with skid marks behind it? Only happens for a few secs then goes back to normal. At first i thought it was the traction control kicking in but i wasn't pulling off particularly fast and it's a dry sunny day
My car is a 99 SE.
Many thanks.

Not sure if all IS200's are supposed to do this, but when i move my steering wheel left or right my car revs to 1000rpm or just above - every time :duh:
My car has an idling problem anyway (see High Idle thread)
Can anyone shed any light?
-
Having an IS200, and being 20 with 2 years no claims my lowest quote was £1788. In my opinion you'll be lucky to find a quote under £3k.

... for a Lexus IS200?
Not sure what sort of style i want, would like chrome but they'd be too much hassle with our crappy weather so looking to get a shiny finish.
I'll give R-Tec a try at the weekend, anyone got any other good places?
-
Many congrats :)

Oops my mistake, the spare has a 225 tyre on it - so that would be ok then, 225's on the back and 215's on the front? The reason i don't want to buy 2 new tyres is because i don't plan on keeping the 17's for long ;)
-
I'm in need of 2 new front tyres which are 215/45/17 but instead of buying 2 i was going to buy 1 and use my spare wheel instead. The things is, my spare has a 245/45/17 tyre so would i be able to buy another 245/45/17 and run those on the back with the 215/45/17's on the front?
Cheers chaps.

When i start from cold my car is ideling at about 1200rpm, it usually stays around that mark but when i put my foot on the clutch this morning it rose to 1500rpm. Once ive been driving for a while it idles as normal, but even then if i turn my engine off then on again it'll be at 1200rpm again for a short while.
99 V SE, 70k miles.
Bit annoyed really, my Corsa SRi used to do this sort of thing - thought i was moving up and onwards when i purchased the Lexus <_<
-
Cheers people... pretty normal day for me... full day at work, then off to the club a bit later which is more work, get home & have 2 hours sleep then up again for another full day, then off to the club again a short while after that which is more work etc etc blah blah blaaaaah
