Im interested in getting some too, as mine will be up for a service soon and thought about it, Why not get a group buy going seen as many are interested.
Sounds like a plan.
I am getting 3 4 wire sensors.
whats everyone else planning on getting
-
the seem great, But like yourself i am intersted too. Only problem is the second link states might not be suitable for Japenese cars??
Will these fit into a Lexus IS 200?
check out http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/lambda_sensors.php
Can by a universal flange!!!
that will help for Jap cars
-
Also
Are any of the sensors on the MK1 Lexus wide band?? Or are they all standard o2 sensors??
Wideband means range 0Volts to 5 Volts
Standard 0Volts to 1 Volt
-
I have seen on eBay UK quite a few univeral o2 or lambda sensors.
Will these work on a Lexus??
Rather then shipping some from the states, i thought for £10-£15 each in the UK it was a bargin.
Any ideas?

From the www:
To check the sensors first disconnect and inspect the wiring, remove the sensors and clean them, don't use any type of chemicals to do this, the cleaning should be done by using a PROPANE TORCH, place the sensor tip inside the propane flame for a few seconds at a time until all contaminants get evaporated by the heat. Place the sensors back in place.
Would a butane blowtouch do the trick??
also if i just used some iso-propyl alcohol would this damage
them or would it clean them.
I know i can buy some new o2 sensors but i wanted to try cleaning them first.
What are o2 sensors made of? and how easy is it to break them with a blowtorch?
-
Hi everyone
I was going to clean my o2 sensors but i dont know what to use.
Can any one help?
Will contact cleaner work (99% iso-propyl alcohol) or damage them?
Lemon?
WD40??
Voodoo????
water?
Blow torch?
anyone really know??

I'm going to do a plug change but noticed that 2 of the 6 plugs are pretty well hidden. Anyone know the best way to get at them??
Just spoke to the Lexus Garage, they do not carry the throttle body gasket in stock. Thus when they change the spark plugs at the dealer they reuse the same gasket!!!
Just so everyone know.
I have ordered a new one for £3 from Lexus. Well worth replacing
-
Not a straightforward job, since you have to take the throttle body off (I'm not sure how to).

I read on http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/spkplghnbook.htm#Red that adding octane boosts can damage the sparkplugs.
Will this happen with optimax?? or just the additives??
If this is the case should I stick to normal unleaded or use optimax on my GS300 MK1?
Also I have a product called Cataclean that helps clean the cat and valves. Should i use this before changing me spark plugs, or after, and thus have nice new clean ones?
Cheers

I saw this item on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320085108455) for a gs throttle body coolant bypass.
Is this gonna work? Or is the throttle body play a big part in cooling the engine?
Cheers

I've got a brand new set of 4 original 18" sport wheels for MK1 GS300 , 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10 rears, would sell them if the price is right.
Do they have tyres on??
How much would be the right price?
-
Hi guys,
wheels are the 5 spoke SE, but have some kerb damage (from the wife !).
The sat nav unit and touch screen should go straight in another car(I think), not sure of the price, will listen to offers.
I am pi**ed off with my insurance though(insure.co.uk), I had the accident on 8th Jan, and I am still waiting for them to make me an offer for the car. Have had to buy myself a run around for the time being. A Y plate Avensis, not a bad car, but once you get used to a lexus......... :-(
The only good point is the 'broken' fuel guage, at least it seems that way as it hardly moves ! :D
how big are the wheels? how bad is the curb damage?
-
Will they be the same figment?
-
Would be be willing to sell the wheels?
What wheels are on it?
-
I personally don't think they look all that bad. I used to have these wheels on my Aristo and though they were awesome. Definitely looked better in the metal. Suppose you'd be better looking for some second hand ones and then selling these on if you don't like them, they look well suited to soarers. I'm sure they cost a ridiculous amount from Lexus as well.
Do you have a pic??
I would love to see them!! could you post a pic or email me a pic, see ur PM for me email

Does anyone else have any comments?
-
Without wishing to be rude - yeuch!!! Not to my taste at all mate.
what would u recommend??

Would standard SC430 18" alloy wheels look good on a mk1 GS300??
I know the MK1 GS300 sports has the multispoke alloys but they are as rare as rocking horse :tsktsk:
Here are the wheels on an LS

or on the SC

I think i need some new sparks. I have got 62K on the clock. O2 sensors are ok and air filter seems clear.
hopefully will get the MPG up for negative figures!!!

I got a set from here http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ 2 years ago - they still work fine, great service and price.
