  1. From the www:

To check the sensors first disconnect and inspect the wiring, remove the sensors and clean them, don't use any type of chemicals to do this, the cleaning should be done by using a PROPANE TORCH, place the sensor tip inside the propane flame for a few seconds at a time until all contaminants get evaporated by the heat. Place the sensors back in place.

Would a butane blowtouch do the trick??

also if i just used some iso-propyl alcohol would this damage

them or would it clean them.

I know i can buy some new o2 sensors but i wanted to try cleaning them first.

What are o2 sensors made of? and how easy is it to break them with a blowtorch?

  2. I'm going to do a plug change but noticed that 2 of the 6 plugs are pretty well hidden. Anyone know the best way to get at them??

Just spoke to the Lexus Garage, they do not carry the throttle body gasket in stock. Thus when they change the spark plugs at the dealer they reuse the same gasket!!!

    Just so everyone know.

I have ordered a new one for £3 from Lexus. Well worth replacing

  3. I read on http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/spkplghnbook.htm#Red that adding octane boosts can damage the sparkplugs.

Will this happen with optimax?? or just the additives??

If this is the case should I stick to normal unleaded or use optimax on my GS300 MK1?

Also I have a product called Cataclean that helps clean the cat and valves. Should i use this before changing me spark plugs, or after, and thus have nice new clean ones?

    Cheers

  4. Hi guys,

wheels are the 5 spoke SE, but have some kerb damage (from the wife !).

The sat nav unit and touch screen should go straight in another car(I think), not sure of the price, will listen to offers.

I am pi**ed off with my insurance though(insure.co.uk), I had the accident on 8th Jan, and I am still waiting for them to make me an offer for the car. Have had to buy myself a run around for the time being. A Y plate Avensis, not a bad car, but once you get used to a lexus......... :-(

The only good point is the 'broken' fuel guage, at least it seems that way as it hardly moves ! :D

how big are the wheels? how bad is the curb damage?

  5. I personally don't think they look all that bad. I used to have these wheels on my Aristo and though they were awesome. Definitely looked better in the metal. Suppose you'd be better looking for some second hand ones and then selling these on if you don't like them, they look well suited to soarers. I'm sure they cost a ridiculous amount from Lexus as well.

    Do you have a pic??

I would love to see them!! could you post a pic or email me a pic, see ur PM for me email
