I was going to get a spare key cut for our LS but there seems to be some problems. We have got the '93 LS with the small remote cdl button built into the key. I took it to a place in the metrocentre and they said this type of key does not have a transponder/ chip built into it? The new key wouldn't have the radio thing built in. Does the immobiliser on a '93 LS only cut in if the alarm is set?, if so this would mean copying the key would be no good- i think i have confused myself here thanks for any help. :D

Over the past 6 months our CD player keeps showing 'ERR' when selecting any of the discs ocassionally it will work if i keep pushing the disc button then it will just play one of them. I know sometimes with players on the mornings damp etc can be problems but this happens in the afternoon too. Can the lens become dirty? :duh: everything else on the sound system works great. Any ideas? thanks

Ah Jap Parts i am sure they are in Middlesbrough or Stockton-on-Tees here in the NE, i haven't used them before but they advertise in a regional car mag

I phoned Lexus in Newcastle and they gave us a quote for £130, i tried Halfords they gave us them for £80(front and rear) for some Japanese ones probably try to fit them next week. :D Paul

Hello can anyone help, i need to change both the front and rear pads.......is it beyond difficult?!!! I am ok generally with changing brake pads but i haven't done them before on the LS :duh: Thanks

Try 'Gliptone' its about £20 for the leather cleaner and conditioner and it works well(i think there is a website if you can't get it from halfords etc.). I have used it for my old Fiat X1/9 and for the LS and it makes them look much better, sometimes it can take a couple of applications. Paul

I'm 25! i love to drive the car- that's right the girls love them- that's why i asked my parents to pay for the insurance as i'm a poor student and its more fun to take to University than a Fiat Cinquecento and the LS can do 70 B)

I have done it, just pulled the light out at the points closest side to the front bumper. It's held in by a ball and socket type fitting. :D

When driving our 93 LS the car runs okay except when doing about 50-60mph. At 1600-1900rpm the car feels like it hesitates and doesn't run as smooth. Increase the power or accelerate quickly and it's fine or go below 1600 and there is no problem. The car is due a service soon but what could it be? :duh:

We can only open the boot lid from the switch when the engine is switched off and gear lever is in Park position, also our car locks itself if nothing happens after unlock for about 20 seconds or so, got to be extra careful not to lock the keys in the car! Paul

I'm having some problems with changing the bulb on the driver's side side light. It says in the manual remove the screw and remove? hmmm not too sure- it seems fastened in very well it seems an easy job but i don't want to break the lens . Has anyone got any advice? Thanks

We've got the same colour, champagne-ish Lexus Newcastle do touch-up paint for only £5! what a bargain. It cost more for for the same thing for my Fiat Cinquecento!

Hi Our LS seems to be pretty reliable, due a service about now. However the other week we had just under half a tank of fuel and it appeared like it wasn't running as smooth so we filled her up, incase it was a shortage of petrol somehow. It's happened since. Starting, running, acceleration is fine. It is difficult to describe, just appears to be intermittent thing either hot or cold. Normally the needle stays at about 600rpm but it drops down or goes higher (without air con on) Its going in next week for the :shutit: service but could it be a spark plug or something like that? It was last serviced June 02 and only done about 8000 miles since. Thanks :D

We have the same problem on our 1993 LS the revs increase from about 600 to 1000 when the aircon cuts in Paul

Hello We have a LS and obtained a quote for a replacement radiokey at Lexus Newcastle- quite expensive at around £190!

I tried Tesco they quoted us £638 for my father, mum and me (25) to drive with pncb- not bad. Just had a go driving the LS for the first time yesterday- what a nice car, i haven't driven any car quicker than my student Fiat Cinquecento 899cc. :shutit:

Hello I think i know the answer to your question. We heard the same noise in our LS and had no idea what it was........................ we thought it was something going wrong with the alarm or radio but it is inside the noise and it lets you know when the sunroof is not closed. Paul
