  1. Defo bolting it on even if I have to do it myself, doesn't really matter if it's wonky does it :whistling::lol:

You could maybe get away with 1 bolt at either end and use the glue aswell mate, as there should be 2 bolt holes at either end of the spoiler? And if you drill the holes near the boot lip it could probably be covered up with a smaller spoiler if you do ever decide to remove it?

Just pm'd you aswell mate about the templates :D

Cheers mate i've got a plan for doing it, just replied to your pm :D

  2. Andy have you still got the pm i sent you about fitting it? and making the templates?

    when i had mine :D

Probably got it somewhere matey but i'd have to trawl through my pm's to find it and there's a few off you  if you could re-send it that'd be great, the way I see it make a template drill the holes if it's not quite right have another go you might get a few more holes in your lid but the spoiler will hide them and it's never coming off not while i've got the car anyway.

  3. I'd have it bolted on mate, there quite wide at the ends of the spoiler that attach to the boot lid, so i'd say it would get quite a bit of wind hitting it when your driving about,

Looking forward to seeing it fitted mate :D

You any good with a drill Chris? :hehe: i'd rather it was drilled but I think i'd have to do it myself and really don't fancy it, will have a word when I go to get it done if he won't drill then i'll have to make a decision weather to just take it away or trust the glue.

  4. id be a little wary on the old drilling the boot part myself mate , although ive been reliably informed tiger seal and the likes is proper proper sticky , i know a guy running a subaru sti spoiler on with tiger seal and its mega mega heavier than a highline spoiler on a lex , so should be cool !

was the quality of the spoiler good when it arrived yes ? mine should be here tommorow hopefully !

Quality was good matey it had a few marks on but I think that happened whilst being shipped.

  5. Just an update, still not sprayed :crybaby: he reckons he should be able to do it last job tomorrow and then leave it to air dry overnight as it can't be baked, one thing tho the guy fitting it want's to just glue it on  is this ok  i'd prefer him to bolt it aswell but I don't think he want's to drill the boot and I certainly don't have the confidence to do it myself, apparently the glues very strong and it'll be fine but i'm not 100% convinced

  6. There's going to be a 2mins silence accross Merseyside tomorrow at 3.06pm to remember the 96 Liverpool fans who lost there lives at Hillsborough 20 years ago, I know many of you won't of been directly effected by what happend but if you can observe the silence and try and make it nationwide/worldwide that would be amazing, I without actually losing anyone in the tradgedy do have friends who where there and at this time of year football suddenly becomes un-important.

  7. chris waiting for the vids hehe.

 will see if i can get a couple sorted matey :D

Have you got yours yet mate or is it next week you pick it up? (cant remember when you said you were picking it up)

yep got mines just keeping it quiet. polished few pipes but going to do some tonight. polishing is hard on pipes lol.

I found the pipes quite easy mate, but i put my drill in a vice to hold the drill and you just move the pipe backwards and forwards, A lot easier than trying to hold the pipe and the drill, plus you can put a bit more pressure on the pipe :D Look forward to seeing some pics of it fitted mate :D

Will you 2 knock it off and stop rubbing our non s/c'd noses in it :tomato::lol:

  8. :tsktsk: Chris some people do need a good kicking but it's probably better you went to the Rozzers ( as James May would say) at least now he and they know if someone damages cars again it's his door they'll knock on 1st even if he wasn't involved, not worth doing time for giving some low life a kicking even if it does make you feel better.

  9. Any advice on how to paint my calipers. Would like them red with Lexus decals. Do I use Hamerite paint. Do I have to take the calipers off? Should primer be used first? Where do i get the Lexus decals? Tips and advice would be really really appreciated.

    Ta a lot..

    Col... :D

Simple matey, take wheel off clean with de-greaser and wire brush, mask up disk, I used hammerite direct to rust paint, couple of coats, lacquer if you want, decals not sure if anyone on here still does them if not e-bay but someone will tell you if you can get them off here still.

Not red obviously but you get the idea.

  10. BUMP, just an update the spoilers arrived today :D not taken it out to the car yet as I couldn't be bothered going to open the garage up but it looks very good and is very light, alot lighter than I thought so hopefully wont cause any boot opening problems, just got to sort getting it sprayed and fitted now :D

  11. Thanks for the welcome guys, This seems to be a nice friendly forum B)

Im to embarrassed to get pics up at the mo as the wheels are probably the worst Ive ever seen on a car....Newly refurbed ones will be on by saturday though.

I only plan to keep this is200 for a few months as its not the best example around but drives spot on.

I have some money due to come to me in the next couple of months and I plan to sell this car and put the money together and buy a mint example.

Im definately sold on the Lexus brand now and a nice black is200 sport is what I fancy next on a newer reg plate.

I'll get some pics up at weekend or early next week.

I thought that when I got mine, it was in a right state and I didn't really want the bother of getting it back to what it should be but then fell in love with it so sorted all the mess out, quite satisfying looking at it now and thinking what a state it was in, the only thing thats still bugging me is a small crease in the o/s/r wing but that's to big a job for me so it'll have to wait :D

  12. Should of done the timing belt cover not really planning on doing the manifold covers tho, defo going to give the engine bay a good clean and need to move the ballasts aswell. Only really done this as it's a cheap easy mod but makes a big difference IMHO so as long as I keep it clean should look good for a while yet :D
