Has anyone replaced their standard 215/45/17 tyres for wider ones? i used to have nice wide 225/45/16 on my Celica which gave me better grip and also protected my alloys as the side wall of the tyre were thicker came out alittle bit further than the alloy so even if i touched the kerb it would only scrape the tyre and not the alloy. Does anyone know how wide i can go on the standard 17" five spoke SE alloys? 225? 235? 245? 255?...

serious? i need to change the discs? but they seem to be working fine other than that judder... i'm sure it'll be ok for the mean time... money's abit tight at the moment considering i've only JUST bought the car, hell i'm still shopping for baby stuff! it'll be due next month... Money, money, money... you never seem to have enough...

Since i've had my IS i've noticed a strange 'judder' when i break, i assume it's the ABS though i have to admit it seems odd for the ABS to be kicking in so soon. i drive at a leisurely pace but when i step on the breaks at say , medium strength, it judders and feels like the ABS engaging and dissengaging the breaks, no big thing i suppose, i just wanted to know if everyone elses IS200 is the same? cos this ABS feels different from my previous cars' ABS systems...

Though i have to say it only comes a close second compared to my IS... no offence... only cos i just bought mine today... and it's mine... mine, mine, mine.... lol By the way those eye brows look mean, where would someone else with a Lexus IS200 go if he wanted one? ... I was wondering what's the difference between the different oupt HID kits? and can you have the inner head lamp HID too? and how about the spot light? and also are the really bright high pwered HID's all legal? cos if your head lights were THAT bright wouldn't that dazzle/blind any oncoming traffic at night? Hell, i'm all for it when it comes to making your own car look good but i don't want someone to crash into my car because he/she couldn't see the road becasue of my headlights...

That exsplains the 4A-GE 20 valve engine like from the old Toyota Corolla AE110 or AE111 models...

Hmm... have the alloys the same colour as the car? I've seen this before on only a handful of cars... i think it was a red one and i also saw a blue car with the same colour alloys, personally i think it looked abit tacky and odd. though there are ALWAYS exeptions to anything, look at white cars with white wheels (Honda Type-R's) or Black wheels on a black car (very pimp) or your standard issue silver on silver... i think platinum Ice on Platinum Ice would look cool considering it'll be metallic paint... bling! now that i think about it, maybe it'll look better than Chrome... Hmm.... Who's good with Photoshop???

Hi all, great site you have here. My question is this, during my search for an IS200 i have noticed one or two with a different stereo unit installed for example i saw one IS with the double DIN Sony system that comes as standard with the 2000 model Celica and MR2's does that mean these's a replacement panel with the DIN slots for the IS which allows you to install an aftermarket stereo available? Considering that fact that the original is prone to problems there's no point going to Lexus and asking them for another OEM unit because hell, i want my head unit to take USB memory sticks and SD memory cards or play MP3s or have a phunky graphic Equalizer which sings and dances to the music... i don't want to pay silly Lexus dealer prices for ANOTHER standard stereo...
