I decided to do it so I though id post up some pictures. It has amber bulbs in at the moment as my silver ones havent arrived yet.

That would be perfect but its 330mm long and from the back box to the bumper is only about 150mm max so it will stick out loads. I could cut it down but then I will either loose the rolled end or the mounting bracket. I think im going to have to go for a 3.5" weld on type which is about 84mm ID so it wont move about much and self taper it to the original tailpipe. Thanks for the reply.

I know this sounds a bit chav but until I get my twin exit custom exhaust made im looking for a stainless tailpipe trim to hide the brown one thats there at the moment. I have a standard exhaust with the 3" tailpipe but I cant find a trim that goes past 60mm which obviously wont fit. I ideally would like it to go from 3" to 4" to fill the cut out in the bumper. Does anyone have or know where I can get one of these. Ive asked a few shops but they were more than unhelpful.

Yeah got to the garage and he hadnt even opened the spring seats or the instruction manual. Clearly an arse so now im looking for someone competent to fit them for me. He couldnt do the halo eyes either but I managed to do them. Not that hard either.

Hi Everyone. I bought a set of Tein Basic Coilovers as they said you could use them with the OEM top mounts. I took them to be fitted and now he has told me he couldnt do it as the OEM top mounts dont fit with the coilovers. Has anyone else fitted these to their Altezza with the OEM top mounts or do I have to get the pillow ball mounts from Tein?

Did you use the OEM top mounts or get the tein top mounts. I bought a set of Basic coilovers and when I went to have them fitted he said the OEM top mounts were no good as it was metal on metal and the spring was moving around.

Thanks for the pics. It does look better. Im having the garage who is fitting my suspension to fit angel eyes at the same time and its tonight so I dont think ill have time for him to spray the tint on as well.

Hi Everyone. I have to take my headlights apart and was wondering if it would look better if I removed the amber indicator filter and used those mirror glass amber bulbs. My car is silver so I was thinking it would blend in better. Has anyone done it and can post up some pictures so i can see before and after. Cheers

Im having tein coilovers fitted thursday so ill pass all this on to the installer and he can bend them for me when he has the wheels off. Thanks for the replies everyone.

So the altezza does have camber and toe adjustment does it? As my last car didnt and when i lowered it the tyres were wearing on one side only. Found these on another forum. Are these correct only for OEM suspension and ride height Front side slip 0±5 Front camber -0°30'±45' Front caster 6°05'±45' Front king pin angle 9°25'±45' Front toe in 1±2mm Rear camber -0°55'±45' Rear toe in 2±2mm

Thanks for the replies. WIM is a long way from me and I have a local garage that can do Geometry setup but they only have the Lexus IS200 in the system not the Altezza. If there are only minor differences ill let them know and see what they can do.

Hi Everyone, Im having Tein Basic Coilovers fitted next week and lowering the front 30mm and the rear 20mm. When its all done ill need to have the cars alignment adjusted to suit. Are the setttings on the Altezza the same as the Lexus IS200. Will the standard settings be ok now its lowered? Thanks

I have tried pulling the backing plates from the disc and I heard a load of rust crack but the noise was still there. Can I remove the backing plates. What do they actually do?

They are the standard 17" wheels and the suspension is factory fit.

Hi Everyone, I have a problem. When I turn left I hear a rubbing grinding noise from what I think is the front wheels. It doesnt happen when I steer right and it happens at all speeds. Ive had the lower ball joints checked and the guy said they were solid as he put a bar under them and couldnt move them. Sometimes the noise is constant and other times its intermittant. Anyone else got this problem or know whats causing it so I can get it sorted. Cheers

Im looking for the electric window wiring. I have all windows rolling up with the alarm but ive lost the one touch on the drivers. Ive found one diagram but the drivers switch is represented as a block while the others show a circuit and I cant see which wire I have connected wrong. Ill have a look at that link now and hopefully it will have a better diagram.

Does anyone know if the interior wiring loom on the Altezza is the same as the IS200. I know the engine wiring loom will be different but I was wondering about the electrics inside the car. Electric windows, mirrors, heaters etc. I need to do some wiring and cant find a service manual for an Altezza anywhere but managed to find one for the IS200 on CD on Ebay.

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if the Tein Driving Master Basic Damper kit is the same as the Tein Basic Coilover kit. I have seen them both and they look the same so I was wondering if it was just different regional naming by Tein. Anyone got the Tein Basic coilover kit on their Altezza. Any feedback on its stiffness etc. Also it says that this kit uses the OEM top mounts. Can someone explain the difference in OEM and Aftermarket top mounts to me please. Cheers

Hi Ive got a manual Altezza RS200 and when i bought it the oil had been changed as it was very clean. With this oil I never lost any. When I changed it last time I put Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 fully synthetic in it and it seems to be using it. Ive searched for leaks and cannot see a single drop under the engine. Im thinking of changing the oil grade to a thicker one so hopefully it wont burn off so much. I see on Castrols site they recommend EDGE 0W-30 for the Altezza. Has anyone tried this oil in their car. Also can anyone give me a quick lesson on what the oil grades mean? Thanks

Is there any performance gains to not recycling the fumes as its bad air going into the engine? Will the engine still run smoothly if you vent the gas to atmosphere rather than back into the engine?

Do you fit the oil catch tank on the pipe that goes into the air box and just block up the hole in the air box the tube used to go into?

I tried UPAUTO and TUNITNOW on ebay and UPAUTO said they dont do it anymore and i couldnt find TUNITNOW but ill try that email address let you know how i get on.

Thanks aztecbandit1 ill try them now. apart from it being in two pieces is it good quality? I know a good bodyshop but by the time they fibreglass the return lip to the bumper and spray it ill be better off getting one of ebay and just spraying it. If i cant get one though thats what ill have to do. Thanks for your help guys.

Hi all I know a guy who is making me a twin exit exhaust for my altezza. One exit pipe either side of the car. I have the lexus body kit on it but the rear bumper valance only has on hole for the exhaust and I dont want to cut it as it wont have the nice finish the same as the other one. I seen someone on ebay selling a fibreglass one with two exits but i cant find it on there anymore. Does anyone know where I can get one from. Thanks

I think ive found them. Its a 21W 581 bulb. Looks the same as a 382 but the bayonet pins are slighly offset.
