  1. £500 is not really enough for the setup, unless you went for all 2nd hand stuff, which is always a risk. I think over the year i've spent roughly £400 on secondhand stuff when i see it. I've got one last amp for my sub to go which is going to be the most expensive single item for my setup.

You mention that rear speakers should be taken out? Would that be in my case if i have Alpine SPR-17s fronts and 10" Type X sub? At the moment i have Pioneer TS-A6921 380w rears?

I'm still looking around for the amp for my 10" type X sub, been looking at hifonics and jl audio like you said, but what about vibe, say Vibe Blackbox 5 Mono Amp. Are they a good solid purchase?

  2. Bonnet struts next? Also you will have to tape the hose for the window washer under the bonnet as theres no holes for the clip (unless you fancy drilling a hole into the carbon bonnet lol) and make sure you close the bonnet the correct way....lower it slowly until its touching the slam panel/bonnet catch, then push down to close it, as the part that catches the bonnet release hook is very weak...i ended up cracking mine and i decided to file it off completely.

  3. Yep, might as well get it all done for peace of mind! No point having a new belt only to keep the old tensioner/idler and later find out they also need changing few months down the line. You will also end up paying the labour again for the work that could have been done in the first place.

  4. Thats about right price for parts and labour. At prolex the belt is £30, but you will also need to replace the tensioner (£57)+idler (around £30). Add up the sums and it'll be around £120.

Cheapest on eBay is £75 for belt, tensioner, idler (Item number: 180346539176), but thats pickup only. Others are around £110 inc delivery for all the bits and bobs. If the garage charges you £120 for it all, make sure it's genuine lexus/toyota and not other makes like unipart for that price.

On a different note, the web designer of that site needs to be shot, why link (637 by 457) images into the website, only to resize them to a thumb nail size (100 by 80)? Thats really bad practice, plus the fact theres like 29 of these all trying to load at once.

  5. Two amps is a good setup, one 4 channel amp and 1 mono amp for sub. But as your component speakers are so expensive, wonder if its worth having it's own amp to power them lol. That's the most expensive front speakers i know of. Bet they sound amazing with the right amp.
