  1. interior images (well tried to get the sill light but difficult with a compact digital)
  2. the drivers door does unlock when you pull the handle. the others don't. it wasn't AJ (but my brother in law got his RX from him) I dealt with Antonio (who coincidently sold my dad his s-class a couple of years ago when he worked for Mercedes - weird huh)
  3. Some dusk shots of the new car... will wait for a nice day to take the sunlight ones... went for the windsor blue and really happy with it. :)
  4. Does the car auto unlock when you put it into P, or do you have to manually unlock? Enjoy the new wheels. doesn't auto unlock... but then again still safer that way I guess.
  5. The auto locking is a nice feature to prevent, as you mentioned, car jacking. It stays locked until you unlock the doors again manually or by the electric all unlock button
  6. Have finally taken delivery of my IS250 se-l auto... and it is more beautiful than I remember seeing in the show room!!! :D so what little differences? well they have slightly changed the pockets behind the front seats (they are soft pockets)... they have changed the sill lights from blue to white... there is updated map software... and I'm not sure if this was previously available (but have seen many posts about the lack of auto lock when past a certain speed) well now the doors do lock when past 5 or 10mph. anyway it's so shiny and new I have to go out and look at it again... even though its night time!!! :D
  7. Bristol offered a three year service plan with my IS250 SE-L when I purchased it twenty-two months ago. I worked out at the time that with Gold discount I was only going to be marginally better off with the service plan, so turned the offer down....looking back over the bills for the same period proves I made the right decision....bearing in mind the car has only covered 15,000 miles in that time. so on the whole I gather that lower mileage cars will service cheaper (in general) and so if I intend to keep the miles down better not to get stuck paying from the start?
  8. any other opinions on the service package versus pay at the time for servicing? any other experiences? sounds like the servicing can be from £170 -£370 (is this regional variation?)
  9. anyone know where to get the updated dvds?? and these updates u mention do seem good..but are the true? and also what changes to the illuminated door sill? I think it is just a change in colour from blue to white (or vice versa). don't think it's anything more than that. will let you know about the other changes as I have finally got a date for delivery (and it's very soon!!!)
  10. well, i'm still waiting and it is officially 3 months since the order was put in. Still no definite date from the dealer. just keeps saying possibly the end of the week, possibly the end of the month!!! sooo frustrating. also have someone waiting for my old car and they are getting ants in their pants (probably the excitement of being about to become the owner of an SLK)!!
  11. most insurance companies suggest that excessive chips means driving too fast and too clsoe to the car infront. I suggest making sure the car in front just moves out of the bloody way so the lexus can use the road properly. the films that are used are usually visible to some degree and will decrease the visual attractiveness when its on.
  12. okay so the IS250 SE-L still hasn't arrived but this gives me time to ask the important questions: what I really want to know is, is it worth paying £1200 for 4 years servicing at the out (that's the 'additions' price - Edgware Road / Bromley / Croyden - dealerships) or should I get a quote from Lexus themselves (if thats possible) or should I just leave it and take the cost at each service? what do people find they are paying for their services, particularly for the 2005 petrol automatic IS250s? Do they cover all wear and tear (inc tyres) on some schemes? (the above 'additions' doesn't). general opinions on lexus versus non-lexus servicing? look forward to some informative replies people. :) cheers
  13. yes, go to the above link for the ultimate in plastic tack to make your decent car look... (need good synonym for crap)
  14. Once they actually start building your car, it doesn't take very long at all. It's only bolting bits together, after all. Any delay is because they have an overful order book and just have to work their way through them all. It'll come... Maybe it will be a nice Christmas present! hopefully christmas will come early!
  15. I wish you could play DVD's crammed with MP3's...but need to invest in DVD Audio burning software... should have opted for the MM system as that can do the DVD mp3 thing according to this report: http://www.testdriven.co.uk/news.cfm/bespo...or-new-lexus-is Sorry retract the above statement... still have to be DVD-A format (stupid really seeing as how it can decode mp3) maybe a firmware upgrade will be made available soon (if we all hound the lexus / mark Levinson people)
  16. I guess it just takes bloody ages to make a new car, or maybe sales were down and they had just shifted more machinary/factory space and time to all the hybrid cars.
  17. Hi there, although on the members forum I am still awaiting my ordered IS 250 SE-L auto. It has been almost 3 months since I placed the order and there is still no delivery date. The dealer hinted at some small changes to the design of the interior to have more rear leg room, changes to the illuminated door sill and a new satnav DVD (with 4 disks - for different regions). has anyone else experienced the delay or aware of these (hopefully beneficial) changes? does anyone know what the expected delivery to the UK, for this run of production, might be? does anyone know if there are any other surprises to be expected? your answers gratefully appreciated.
