  1. What we need is someone to compile a list of IS250/220 hidden menus etc (EasterEggs as they are called in the computer world). Is there anyone up to the task?
  2. checked my 57 plate and it has the same bluetooth software... I think it is other global software that has been updated, not the bluetooth software itself
  3. cannot find the way of turning off the seatbelt buzzers... or was this just a bit of wishful thinking.
  4. was playing with this today. its possible to activate the rear camera while driving from this menu too how? managed to get into menu but cannot see how to change any settings.
  5. yours is likely to be the previous build. the newer build with autolock I think was from oct/nov in terms of shipment to the UK
  6. which ipod dock system is better? in your last car did you have the video capable dock?
  7. will be uploading mine tonight... so don't close without me please
  8. If you're doing short urban runs in the current weather then I wouldn't be surprised. been like that since I got her at the beginning of november
  9. where were those forest pictures shot? the car really looks like a big cat (a puma?) about to pounce!!! stunning - I want to take some of mine like that!!! :D :D
  10. I do exactly the same. I think I can count on the fingers of one hane the number of times I've remembered to press the button at the end of a journey. It drives me mad. With the auto locking feature (anti hijack) you can program it so the doors also unlock when the car is put into park. this will unlock all the doors. there is also a way of making just the drivers door.
  11. just got my new SE-L about 3 weeks back and it seems then that the only difference now is the sport suspension and lack of wood trim / ventilated seats.... all the other changes are on the new se-l and the 18 inchers are an option. the ride is bound to be stiffer / harder with the sports suspension (i guess thats the whole point)... was there a price difference?
  12. found my answer in the forum. forget this post (how do i delete it?)
  13. Is this trait common to all wives/girlfriends/womankind? It sounds strangely familiar!
  14. i decided to just plug the ipod into the aux port - days and days of music that way
  15. I heard back from Lexus and I don't think they understand the mp3 dvd issue, here is the reply I got: "Thank you for contacting Lexus GB. I can confirm to you that the MP3 files stored on a DVD disc will be able to play in the Mark Levinson audio system. However you will need to make sure that the DVD disc that the MP3 files will be stored on, has the official DVD Audio mark. The following DVD disc formats may not be playable in the DVD system: DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM. Please refer to the category DVD compatibility in the Lexus vehicle owners manual. If I can be of any further assistance, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards, Sean Lester Lexus Customer Account Manager Phone: 0845 278 8888 Email: lexusinfo@lexuscontactcentre.co.uk Webster: www.lexus.co.uk"
  16. did you get it installed? is it worthwhile? how much was the total cost (if you don't mind me asking)?
  17. i guess there is always the aux port and ipod (or other mp3 player) option... shame that doesn't get controlled via the touch screen.
  18. the software (as any dvd-a) converts the mp3's to wav files then makes files similar to that on a video dvd (the folders video_ts and audio_ts). this being the case it seems that 4gb of audio is only going to be around 80-90 tracks. i have made the file images but have not burnt the dvd yet. given those figures and typical mp3 files being <7mb it makes more sense to burn mp3 cd's (700mb discs)
  19. okay, answered my own question with a trial DVD.... looking on the net if it interests anyone there is a free DVD-A software at the following site: Adobeman's DVDA GUI: http://home.comcast.net/~adobeman/DVDAGUI/ it is supposed to create DVD-a from MP3 files. This should then work on the MLS. pretty basic format and don't think there will be much in the way of menu systems. might give it a go this pm... will let you know
  20. I don't know if this has a separate thread (please point me in right direction if it has). In the lexus IS250 digi-brochure (ie the pdf file downloaded from the lexus gb website) it states, and i quote, "the system can play mp3 and WMA files from a CD or DVD". but elsewhere it says only DVD-A can be used for audio. before I burn a DVD with mp3, wma or in aac format can I ask those of you who have tried to let me know what worked and what didn't and also what mark IS250/220d you have. thanks
  21. Was just wondering if there is a running in period on the IS250 auto? No mention of it by the dealer and cannot find anything in the manual. I tend to keep a new car below the 4000 rpm mark for the first 1000 miles anyway - do I need too (itching to use the paddles and get the revs into the 5-6000s Your thought/opinions/technical knowledge appreciated
  22. just got my ?2.5generation IS250 SE-L auto.... not a shake rattle or roll. very extremely ecstatically happy with it. and the paddle shift is just too much fun.
  23. im sure i read somewhere that the new seat pockets were made to offer more legroom at the back..how would that make a difference? does it kit77..i guess you would know :) do you know of any other changes? hidden/unhidden? new DVD-map (and four disks to cover different regions of europe) RDS-TMC (don't know if that was there before) so the traffic reports come to the sat-nav and can help with re-routing if you want. as for the seat pockets... i think getting rid of the hard plastic has added all of 1 inch to the rear leg room, softer on the shins when they touch the seat... but i sit in the drivers seat so I don't really know :winky:
