  1. Hi guys, quick question: I am giving my 2 yr old IS250 to the old man and will have to transfer the ownership into his name for insurance purposes. Is it possible to get he remainer of the 3 yr free RAC membership put into his name so he can use it for the next year? Kit
  2. ... and now Nissan have brought the infinity range to the UK the G37convertible is well worth a look also. (if I'd been able to wait a few more weeks I may have gone for one of them instead) The G37 is not getting a fantastic press. The interior is particularly horrid. Don't have any regrets, you made the right choice! thanks for that... was wondering if I had been too hasty

  4. congratulations on the new purchase. I had the same until last week but am now the proud owner of the 250c se-l. I would recommend joining as a gold member (my info still doesn't show that I am but i am) - discount on service alone can be worthwhile.
  5. put in the destination, let it start to guide, then on the screen press 'route' and then go to route overview.
  6. where did you check for that info.... when i picked up the 250c the dealer did something that activated the autofold with the locking and unlocking of the door (not sure what exactly but nothing too complicated)
  7. Hi, quick question: for curbed / scuffed alloy wheels, if I did a diy repair job would it then be possible at a later date to get the refurb done more professionally eg. prior to selling, or would the temporary job make it difficult to fix? opinions and experiences please... (also which diy kit is recommended and which professionals are good / reasonable pricewise later on) Thanks Kit

  9. Okay so the colour is called tyrian grey... it is in fact a purple and blue mica fleck paint which in some lights looks blue, some purple and some black (ie in the dark). not as in-your-face as the meca red but still stunning in real life.
  10. here are some pics, a bit overcast today so may replace with new ones on a sunny day. deal wise... not too bad (inc. 2 years free service, gardx, tracker horizon, and discount)
  11. and am very happy with it... stunning colour (tyrian grey, mellow white) and full of the gadgets I liked in my 57 250 se-l plus more! the drive is not sluggish like the specs made it sound, in fact very close to the is250. roof down the car comes into its own... no need for a wind deflector, well engineered and very fast on the drop top. sound quality is better than the previous mark levinson and adjusts to top down so no loss of bass. with the usb port it controls the ipod from the screen and steering wheel. best of all - no lock out from any functions when in motion. my passenger can dial numbers and put in sat nav instructions whilst on the move (of course I wouldn't dream of doing so when driving ) anyway... i'll post some pics soon. if anyone else is thinking of buying one and has any questions let me know. Kit
  12. Okay, so I bought a new IS250c and went for the mellow white interior. it has come with car mats but I want to keep these clean. Does anyone know whether there are clear / transparent protectors I can get for the mats? either custom size or cuttable? or some useful alternative ( and please don't say get the car with a dark interior!!) any suggestions much appreciated. Kit

  14. I'm glad it didn't look as though anyone was hurt.... .... otherwise I would have felt like a complete :tsktsk: for laughing so much!!!!
  15. Hi, I have a 2007 IS250 se-l with the MM package. The mark levinson system is okay but the level of user tweaking (bass/sub) seems woefully inadequate. Does anyone know how to tweak it further? Are there any hidden menus? Is there a port on the amp anywhere to connect to laptop and software??? help appreciated Thanks Kit
  16. What brand is recommended by other users?
  17. It's good for country roads where you want to corner without loosing too much momemtum by putting your foot onthe brakes. just notch down a gear or two and go smooth in and power out... sweet!
  18. Hi there, does anyone know where i can actually get a deal on the is250c se-l. I have tried my local dealer but apart from throwing in 2 years free servicing he wont budge on the price. i have heard they may be more reasonable up north but does the fact its a new model make it less likely I'll get a deal?
  19. to be honest the best way to save on fuel costs is to use http://www.petrolprices.com/ to check local prices so you can go to the cheapest... then you can freeze your nuts off whilst filling as slow as possible in the wintery mornings...
  20. Far too much if you ask me. I know London prices are high but that is taking the mickey. If they can't do it for £350 - AT THE MOST - tell them to stick it. I was quoted £290 at Lexus Teesside so they should have some room to manouvre. I would have thought in these credit crunch times they would want your business at any price. I just negotiated for the 10k service - started at £384 then got quote from Twickenham for £210, put this back to edgware and they price matched (including gold discount). best to look around first
  21. Urgent advice required here. Some idiot dented the left rear door and wheel arch in a car park and then drove away. I have to get it sorted under insurance but they will insist on using there bodyshop (Norwich Union - SOLUS). They have been okay in the past but as my 250 is only 10 months old I was wondering if anyone thinks I should use a Lexus/Toyota bodyshop and get the insurers to pay them? What do people suggest? Cheers, Kit.
