  1. Hmm, seems rather complicated with this harness business and the colours that don't match the interior. I have sent an email to the company, we'll see what happens. Have you personally changed the CD player?
  2. Hey all, -I have recently purchased an Alpine MP3 headunit for the IS200. -I am unable to find single DIN convertors for the Lexus here in France. -I am pleading that someone shows me the way towards buying one in the UK and having it sent over. -If anyone could help, it would be appreciated.
  3. I have the 'older' sound system and must say it is quite impressive. People have often said to me: 'How many subwoofers do you have?' but they've also said this when I had to drive a family friend's Ford Focus 2 Litre ZETEC (nice car and system). At the moment I am looking at purchasing a new headunit to replace the factory standard. I have a 12'' brand new Pioneer subwoofer, already enclosed and a 4 channel Audison amplfier, it's just a matter of time before I start installation. DON'T GO STANDARD, GO ALL THE WAY SON.
  4. Ok guys, Well, I'm in the UK at the moment (Andover) and I want to get a few things done whilst I am here with the car. I bought a chrome four inch tip for the muffler, because the standard one is the pits. No, I don't have enough money at the moment for a new exhaust kit. Two factors: Folding mirror alarm kit? Single DIN convertors? Anything else I could take advantage of, with the exception of a supercharger?
  5. Guys, I'm in England, in Andover, near Winchester. I would like to know where I could buy a single DIN conversion kit for my cd dash so that I can purchase the new Pioneer headunit. Cheers,
  6. Hey, I finally made it to the UK from the South of France, it took me 13 hours by car. I have the is200 here at the moment and i will be attending some sort of champ car racing tomorrow and the day after.. im located in a village called abbots ann, just near andover, not far from winchester.. cheers, marc
  7. So basically if I come to England (Winchester) I will probably have someone trying to break into my IS200? After hearing so many attempted robberies it makes me wonder: Is the crime rate that high?
  8. To Flying Pig, On the contrary; I believe everyone here appreciates professional advice and its nice of you to keep us aware that there are people out there who make their living through theft, and that we should employ these preventative measures to keep our precious 200s/300s safe and sound. I can't say that I have had any problems here in France, most likely due to the fact that I live all week in a very secure country (Monaco), but I imagine some areas of Nice, M****ille and naturally Paris would be a totally different ball game. A mobile phone and a wallet? Bugger. Count yourself lucky nothing happened to yourself and your family, that's the most important! Sincerely, Marc
  9. Keiran, Damn that was quick. Very impressive, thanks. I am actually in France myself, but I will make some inqueries about that single din converter within the Forum and also outside via the Web. Ahh, the beep. It had me worried, thinking that my sensor wasn't working. (That's a bit cheap - I expected one) 3900 Pounds! Does anyone know how much that makes in Euros or Australian Dollars? (Yes, I'm an Aussie). Hopefully with that installed I will be able to respresent in Monaco B) Cheers! :)
  10. I never had any replies to my post about myself coming over to the UK in late April with my '83' plated Lexus (how nice). But that's besides the point. My question today is in relation to a few things, such as: Stereo installation: When removing the 'large' standard CD player, how do we fill the gaps in if I put in a single DIN headunit? The apparent beep when in reverse: What purpose does this serve? I thought it was perhaps the parking sensor but I have tested it and it beeps continiously. TTE Super-charger kit: How much for the installation, what sort of warranty does it have, what are the advantages/disadvantages and where can I see details of purchase etc on the internet? Cheers, Marc
  11. Hey all, I have only posted once on this forum, so I think I must go over my personal details for you all. -Well, my name is Marc. -I am orginally from Tasmania in Australia. -I am 19 years old and am currently living in Ste Maxime near St Tropez, in France. Reason I am living in France; I am half french (mother). NEWS I am coming over to the UK in late April to work in a Peugeot dealership near Winchester, and I will be driving my car up from the South of France to Calais. I will be there with two French mates from my Uni in Monaco. If we could meet up somewhere nearby, that'd be great to see a few Izzy's. (not many here). That is all, Looking forward to hearing from you all, Marc
  12. Hey all, Question: What does the stock speaker setup in the IS200 consist of? I realise there are eight speakers (correct me If I am wrong). What size and brand are they? I ask this question because I am going to change a few little things, nothing major but I would like to put my VCCS Pioneers back to work, as they have been sitting in my closet for the past year! Apart from that I do not want to 'rice' this car, I like it very much as it is.
  13. Lol, I've been coming to France regularly since I was little, so I don't really have a choice on liking it or not, it's part of me. :) But yeah, its ok, although it doesn't resemble life in Australia what so ever, but atleast it's a change (can't complain honestly) As for car modfications; It is probably going to worsen because of this new 'upstart' Nicola Sarkosy, who has the country on lock down, and speed limits are really checked nowadays (dammmnn) The Lexus is great, enjoying every bit of it, as are the girls Marc
  14. Hey all, I am from Australia, I'm 19 years old and I am currently doing my studies in Monaco, the South of France. I left Australia in Febuary 2002, and we all moved over here as my mother is french. That's enough background information.. I have recently purchased a IS200, grey 'with the b-kit', very nice car, especially on the 'autoroute' :P My previous car, in France was a 1.6 litre Tigra, which had far too many problems, thus the change, and my car in Australia was a Nissan Exa 1.8 turbo t-top. :) Looking forward to chatting to you guys about this wonderful car. Marc
