  1. When solved please confirm. Mine´s been that way forever...sounds for a while, then doesn´t ????
  2. Colin or any other expert, I have a doubt regarding the specific needs for plugs. In one of DENSO sites they recommend for LEXUS IS200 the IK16, but the manual recomends either DENSO - SK20R11 or NGK - IFR6A11. The recommended Denso, by the manual, has a temp. of 20 as in their heat range chart. If this is all true, and LEXUS recommends heat range of 20, then I should be putting in the IK22, since my car is supercharged now and I´m in the need of a colder plug ! Now I have another problem! The IK22 has a smaller gap, than the IK16 and IK20, a difference of .04mm. Now, after all this, and knowing the recommended DENSO plug and gap difference, which should be the plug that I should use for my Supercharged LEXUS IS 200....the IK20, which is equivalent to the standard recommended or the IK22, which is cooler, but has a smaller gap ???
  3. Colin could you be more specific on the gap diference between the 20 and 22 ? Thanks,
  4. In the meanwhile I´m doing some reserach regarding the posibility to install an Auto tranny fron a twin turbo Supra that a friend of mine has. He bought an engine with this tranny to swap from a N/A Supra an then bought a 6-speed Getrag. I don´t know which of this Toyota tranny´s is: A340E or A343E, both used by the Supra TT MK4, but the second change gears like a tiptronic from the steering wheel. Also, the 1st. one handles @ 300RWH and the 2nd. @500RWH. Both trannys are 4 speed and have the same gear ratios. I will now do some field reseach to measure my tranny´s length with his, plus the fitting of the housing, to see if I have to addapt the housing plus do some modifying or not to the drive shaft ??
  5. Uffff... The other tranny was installed and the car is woking fine ! I´ll now have to repair the damaged one and keep on the side for future times... I hope this omne holds on for a while ? Fargo: I believe that this tranny will last longer, based on the ESK pressure upgrade when I race the car and the oil cooler I´ll be installing. One of the issues brought to the table is that the engine has more power and I have installed the TC, plus the posi-traction; this equation generates no power loss at the rear wheels at launching (sprinting from 0 Km.), which causes the tranny internally to slip, causing a slow degradation of the discs. This tranny was not damaged by the ESK or excesive heat. If it had been the ESK it would have lighted up the check engine light or limited the tranny not to change gears, but wouldn´t destroyed it. The alterred signal from pressure selenoid only affects the durability of the tranny in a positive way ! It wasn´t also excessive heat because the oil was perfect.
  6. Unfortunately I was a bit stupid and didn´t check anything. The guys at the shop will tell me based on $$$... Luckily I had an extra tranny !! I bought for an experiment with the valve body. I´ll be exchanging them during this week. Lucky me !
  7. The transmission hasn´t been modiefied. There are really two posibilities: TC failure - causing low pressure generating eccess friction, generating excesive heat, therefore destroying tranny. Constant excess engine power - generating excesive heat, therefore destroying tranny. Fargo I don´t believe is the ESK...I´ll let you know if it is or not.
  8. Dobedo / Pro-Lex do you have the HKS reference No. of the cooler ones. I´m not in UK. Thanks !
  9. Friday night I blew my tranny . Still don´t know what happend. Certainly I felt a couple of slipping during the past two weeks, specially when the gas pedal was depressed without the O/D, and when it changed fron 2nd. to 3rd. at full throttle it felt a little sluggish since about 2 months. But last Friday it was too much...i was hitting @ 210- 225 for about 15min. Stop at a stop light and BUM no movement on D or R ! Does anyone know what it can be ?
  10. Did you get the needed info ? If. not, let me know...what year is your 300 ? Good luck !
  11. I had it before i installed the S/C, and with this ECU I differed in about 4 cars from 0-60 / 1/4 mile !
  12. This feeling of engine stall and high RPM range with lack of power and slow acceleration are probably related to the 3 way-catalytic converter system. I once had this problem and the car´s computer and dealer computer did not detect this failure. I suggest you check this system, since this failure may affect engine life by laening excesively the fuel mixture !
  13. SNOOP contact http://www.autosport-fr.com/main.html
  14. Do you get weird sounds or feelings, or do you just feel lack of power ?
  15. Fargo what is "Static tests" ?
  16. What about us from Dominican Republic ?
  17. I tried to open it but it´s all bulked in plastics, so if you open it you´ll see nothing !! Don, t worry on overheating the trans., this system will cool off the transmission, since on higher pressure the fluid travels faster through and back from the radiator, plus the disks have less slip, creating less heat. The cooler is always a good option, but not necesarely needed. The product hasn´t been discontinued. The only low of this product is that isn´t recommended for use at cruising since the pressure is up an not eventually apreciated then sometimes the excess pressure is expulsed through the transmissions level stick. This doesn´t happen if you use it on as recommended !!
  18. I support Fargo´s suggestion and comments regarding this system. This system works as Fargo explianed, only at desired moments, since you can activate it by a botton, It´s not recommended for continuos use. I connected it to the PWR botton, beside the shifter, since this original function doesn´t do much, now it´s really doing what it should do. This system has nothing to do with the VB upgrade, it only modifies the voltage received by the pressure selenoid from the ECU so that the Trans. pressure is increased. This way you can have the best of boyh world´s: 1) Soft shifting at cruising 2) Firmer and quicker shifting under full throttle, plus more HP handling.
  19. Just installed the sytem last week and work at it´s best. The car shifts now like a sports car. This is good because now I can go above my limited 240HP (195 RWHP) because of the transmission. Now I´m going to install 50 NOS HP !!
  20. I would recommend to ask this guys to get you the power table and then compare it to the S/C one. That way you can see with system performs better at different driving needs. US$3000.00 is much less than £3000.00 (US$4,900.00).
  21. That´s a good question ! Are this tubes design for N/A or S/C applications ? There should be a real difference in design.
  22. TTE system is OK because the engine is not Honda or whatever....we run Toyota parts !! And yes, you don´t have to upgrade to pump and rails yet, I´m running on Std. injectors, pump and rail, with an additional 900cc injector running at 45% and the system´s pressure is handling OK at 48.5 PSI (The system is OK from 45 to 50 PSI), if you calculate this: 900*.45=405CC - 405/6=67.5CC per injector Therefore, the needed injectors to be used for stage 2 plus ECU with device for controling the injectors should be original IS200 injector size in CC plus 90 CC per injector.
