  1. "fair amount of hassle" that´s true regarding the the GTE engine, since all parts are avilable, anyone can do this jobs (most shops are familiar with this engine and its components), plus on less work you get doble HP.
  2. The simulator is NEEDED if you´re S/C. S/C and turbo car aplications need to have a fuel/air ratio of @ 12.5:1, which won´t be achieve without using the simulator, either at any throttle position or full throttle ("open loop"). Normally aspirated cars can go ahead and run lean, at @ 14.5:1 - 15.0:1, which is the std. program of IS200 ECU fuel map. In conclusion if your S/C you need to "fool" the ECU...
  3. The catalytic system is not a problem if you eliminate them and use a simulator system. This system is sold by many conpanies around the world, but is specially sold for Lexus at Toyomoto.com in the USA. It´s only about US$80.00. Using this simulator you can modify the fuel delivery system without problems, and upgrade the injectors (can use Supras or other Toyota spec larger injectors)using the original fuel lines and rails. You can even use the F-con to manage this new injectors and can reduce costs by not having to modify on return lines.
  4. Positive Fargo. You need more fuel to compensate the added pressurize air. Under this conditions the car´s original fuel system is put to work at a point where it has not been design for, meaning that the fuel volume that powers the pump and the atomisation generated by the injectors is handling almost a 80%. In a fuel injected system 80% is "maxed out".
  5. I´m not mistaken I tried to connect one on my IS200, but it didn´t work because of the ECU extension with the SC. But if yours is not SC I might go like this: E2-16 (B-R) / Ignition Power (B) E6-21 (W-B) / Earth (E01) E6-25 (Y) / RPM Signal (IGF) E5-23 (W-R) / Throttle Position Sensor (VTA) E5-9 (GR) / Intake Manufold Absolute Pressure (PIM) Hope it feels good.... :winky:
  6. Guys I have the OK: I did some research at the Lexus Dealer, in the car´s repair manuals and noticed that the SLT solenoids on both cars (IS200 and IS300) work under the same voltage "duty ratio", modulating the line pressure. It works with current intervals from the ECT ECU of 0-5V and is checked (for service) with the same resistance of 5.0-5.6Ω at 20°C. Plus, both cars have the same terminals SLT(+)/SLT(-) in the ECU. I believe it should work fine. This shifting advantage plus a modified TC and NO 6 speed can catch us... :zee:
  7. What´s true ? Limites IS200 (max 400HP) vs. Unlimited GTE (Max 700) :winky:
  8. Guys ??? To pay @ 2.600 for stage 2, plus paid for SC (@4500), you better sell engine + SC and then buy and install a 2JZ-GTE engine and can go to the skies in HP without hazzle ??? Another thing...the engine is no more "virgin". I particularly don´t recomend stage 2 for the money?
  9. Depends on the depth of the work, and the desires pressure.
  10. I´ve wasted US$450.00, plus calls and a year in VB modification, plus a brand new VB ?? Not an interesting option at the moment.
  11. Mark what can you recommend on the voltage? Thanks,
  12. Yes, it´s only to be used on those times you need the extra, no recommended until the engine is warm (it´s also not recommended to speed engines cold) and not for constant use. I don´t know how it may feel on a Std. 200, but under hard acceleration it might feels pretty interesting since if you modify an engine the transmision shifting becomes sluggish under more power, this is what we Auto are trying to correct. On Std. 200 it might feel pretty firm !!
  13. Has anyone heard about this sistema that modifies the shift firmness on the IS300 cars ? Do you believe it can be fitted for the IS200, since the ECU´s have the same terminals that are bypassed: SLT (+) SLT (-) This device only has 6 wires: 1 batt. (+) / 1 batt. (-) / 2 sets in/out SLT (+/-). Do the IS200 and IS300 ECU´s handle the same electrice volts on this terminals ? Guys this system may help us Auto´s in an interestind shifting feel and timing...please help. Thanks,
  14. The vhandbrake mechanism is completely independent from the rear pads, in other words' they work separately. Thanks for your suggestion :mat:
  15. Thanks, seems like I will have to be buying more of the rear ones if I want to keep up on "no dust" . Regards,
  16. Does anyone know why I put a set ot front and rear green stuff EBC brake pads and the rear ones are worned out, but the front ones are by mid-life. Is this normal ? I believe that the front pads wear faster than the rear ?
  17. Bodders you can contact the guys at: http://www.autosport-fr.com/site_anglais/indexgb.html I once used this chip and the car gained about a whole Sec. at 1/4 mile !!
  18. I have the TRD one..it´s not the noise that bothers it the banging. It bangs and you feel it like i´s breaking off on the rear end!
  19. I have already bought the classic "wet system" from NOS. I haven´t thought of the progressive controller since it´s a bit expensive ?? Maybe I can investigate if my system could be functioned by this progressive controller and then I may be on a safer side. Thanks for your support !!
  20. Duncan can you give me the reference or description of the HKS plugs yopu put in. Thanks,
  21. Steve for me Mark is not just a phone call away. I live in the Dominican Republic, it's a bit far away... Do you have the standard TTE S/C polley, or do you have the TDI S/C upgrade kit ? If not maybe is about the same that I have now the TDI polley upgrade and only use @ 25-40 HP of NOS ?? I believe that the most the upgrade gives is about 15HP, at the most.
  22. Mark do you have any info regarding this subject ?
  23. How many of you IS200 owners have installed a NOS system while having the TTE supercharger, WITH the TDI boost upgrade ? How many HP of NOS do you handle ? What are the pobabilities of engine failure ? How long have you had it, and how often do you use it ? Please be the most explicit that you can.
  24. I don't really remember what came in the set, but I believe it included the crown and pinion, seal and some liners that are not used if the car has an LSD. Thats all I believe it included ?
  25. Mark can you be more specific on what you mean by "Looks to me like the primary pipes lengths are tuned to way above the rpm limiter" ?
