  1. I was told when ordering mine that the 220D will be out in January 2006 but I want to pick mine up in March when the new registration comes out so I've delayed picking it up. :winky:
  2. I've just ordered a new IS220D - will take delivery on the 1st March 2006 when my current IS200 Sport is three years old. I had to put £500 down with Lexus Sheffield. At first they said I would have to put £1000 down unless I was already a customer. I told them that I didn't buy my car from them but I always get it serviced with them so they let me put £500. Now I just have to wait 12 months...
  3. I don’t think I have any intention of selling my car now it wouldn’t make financial sense. I just thought I would see what I could get for my money. I bought mine in 2003 with the intention I would keep it for three years and then swap it in 2006 for the NEW IS200 which is due in 2005 ( I believe). If your car is three years old in December I would hold on for the new IS200. I feel a lot of this activity smacks of a company that is trying to drum up sales for an end of life model in anticipation of a new version coming out. As has been said I would be annoyed if I had bought an LE believing that it is a unique car only to have all the features put on all the other cars.
  4. I think he had no choice but to tell me as he couldn't get a price for the current car as it had been discontinued. He also said that the car has front and rear parking sensors.
  5. Yesterday I received a letter from Lexus Leicester to say that now I had had my car for a year I might think about changing it or adding accessories to it then I should give them a call to discuss. I thought I’d see how much it would cost me to upgrade to an IS200 Sport with Sat Nav (I currently have a IS200 Sport). They took my details and said they would call me back. After an hour they rang and said they couldn’t give me a price for the car as it has been discontinued and been replaced by a new IS200 Sport!! This car features full leather as standard, a short shift gear stick, different headlights (I think he said tinted but it may have been HID), 11 spoke alloys (same as on the Limited edition) and the body is essentially the same. He said that that is all the information he had at them moment as the car had only just come through, but as soon as he had a price and full details he would give me a call. I was near Lexus Coventry when they rang back so I thought I’d pop in to get more information but they didn’t know anything about it. Has anyone any information or know anything about this? Was he winding me up?
  6. I bought my car from Lexus Leicester. My first ever new car. :P Looking back wish I'd opted for the Sat Nav option. When I replace it I will definitely be getting another. Should be in time to buy the mark II of the IS.
  7. What can I expect to pay for a 20,000 mile service on an IS200 Sport? Any recommendations as to where I should take it? I am based in the East Midlands (near Leicestershire and Warwickshire) but do travel to the North West frequently and would be prepared to take it there if I can get a good price. Thanks for any help.
  8. Cheers guys especially Javaboss for the detailed reply - guess that I'm just gonna have to take it easy for the first 1k and then slowly start to open the car up.
  9. Hi guys I'm picking up a brand new IS200 Sport (Platinum Ice with black leather) on Sunday. Always bought second hand cars before and this is my first ever new car. One of my friends says that an engine needs to be gently "run-in" at first in order that it lasts longer! Is this correct do I have to treat the engine gently when I first pick it up? I had a test drive for a weekend with a Sport and know how these cars perform, don't know how I'll be able to restrain myself knowing I can't utilise all the power under the bonnet. If he's right how long do I have to do this, he suggested for the first thousand miles to keep the revs low and not take the car over 60 mph! - is this right? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Great forum by the way - lots of useful info that really helped me make my decision as to which car to buy (that and the excellent test drive).
  10. I live in South Leicestershire on the Leicestershire and Warwickshire border. It was a toss up between Coventry and Leicester as they are about the same distance from me. But Leicester were just fantastic (Sarah was very helpful, knowledgable and the least pushy salesperson I know).
  11. I too picked up a new car (IS200 Sport) on Saturday 1st but had to give back on 2nd. Ordered one on Monday (3rd) and pick up this Sunday (9th). Ordered an IS200 Sport Platinum Ice with black interior. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! Simply one of the best cars I've ever driven. Lexus Leicester couldn't get any better. First class service.
