  1. Good luck, Colin. Nev and David! solved with a Saab 9000 - our first one - when David! bought it from Doreen. The back offside door was locked inside and out. Maybe Nev could offer some knowledge. HTH

    Greetings!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Nice to see Microcat36 is here, too :winky: Hi Colin. Trust all is well.
  3. Hi Just a shot in the dark, could be leaking fuel injectors, when you switch off after a long run, the injectors leak petrol into the engine causing it to flood untill you welly it to clear it through. First thing to do would be use some injector cleaner and see if it makes a difference. Good Luck Pete Thanks, Pete. Hadn't thought of that. Doh! I'll be giving that a whirl.
  4. Our LS400 after a considerable journey of 150 to 200 miles - mostly motorway - will misfire/run rough, if left after 20 or 30 minutes or so, and will only clear after welly to the floor, to about 3k revs, and around 200 yards, and then be fine all day thereafter. Some occasions I can stop after another 150 or 200 miles, return again after 20 -30 minutes, and she'll start first time on the button (as always) and everything is fine. I'm thinking fuel evaporation. Any other thoughts?
  5. So, where's the latest place to get a new LCD panel - I'm up for soldering myself - I've fixed many a Saab SID unit? Cost today?
  6. Greetings from Bristol. After a long running struggle over a couple of months, finally made it as a member of the forum. Is it always so difficult to become a new member? Some may know me as Zaphod from other forums - particularly UKSaabs, and Great Western Saabs, and Detailing World, but apparently that has already been taken here. I have in the last three months or so added a LS400 to the fleet of vehicles here. I have read that a Lexus is probably one of the last vehilces that you will ever buy. I can well believe it. Really highly chuffed with the car, as is Mrs B, too. It's a fight as to who drives, on most days, but I take in the benefits of being chauffuered everywhere, too. We have a Saab 9000V6 in the fleet, and a 1972 Saab 96 V4 with just 11 (eleven) thousand miles on the clock, so you'll guess that I like my vehicles and Saabs, too. If motoring has been as good as it has been for us since taken the Lexus under our wing, then, no doubt I'll become as great a fan of the Lexus marque as I have been with Saab. In fact, I think I am almost there already. Look forward to interacting and learning more from everyone here. Gratuitous photograph
