  1. Thanks mate. What if I want to keep the sidelights in as well. I guess I can make a hole and plugged it with some silicone. That's what everybody did? What are the benefits of detango ing.Quite tempted to actually paint the orange bit with black transparent paint and keep it in. i just ran the wires through the parking light holes. You can drill holes to accomodate the wires, just make sure you seal the gap whereever you run them through as the light housing will fog up. Why do you want to keep the parking lights as well? It looks really well without the parking bu;bs. Best of luck with it anyway.
  2. With 171K,i`d probably go and have a look at an altezza(u have K up so do u already have an Altezza?)Thats what I`d probably do and then do some engine tuning. With the extra cash you have it might be better to pour it into a car with lower miles. Its just more dead money into a car that your already thinking about changing. Go with your instincts... Just a thought. Good luck with it anyway :D
  3. Most people do it themselves, its not that hard to do. I did them and posted some instructions on how to do it. It might give you some help on where to start. Good luck :)
  4. Yeah was thinking of putting mesh behind the intakes as i`m getting mesh for the grill aswell. Thanks for the tips lad. :D
  5. I`ve added some photos of the pre-assembly of the splitter and how it sits. Was going to start work on it today but my little daughter is sick so will have to defer it for awhile. I`ll keep you all posted on progress and add photos as I go. http://s995.photobucket.com/albums/af71/isright/adding%20front%20splitter/
  6. Yeah it sits lower so what you suggested makes sense. I didn`t get around to taking some snaps but will do tomorrow just to show how it sits. I`ve no intension to remove the splitter(hopefully!) so using the seal will do nicely.Cheers for the advice, much appreciated lad.
  7. I mean in terms of body styling as far as I can remember . Tuning wise its a gem,no doubts :D
  8. Thats good to know. I think they look well with his car as it`s not over modified. Well they certainly look better than the standard lex alloys.I`m just more into the drift look alloys. B) Thats what im looking for deep dish, split rim stagger fitment drift style wheels lol Slowly getting there, Just jumped on rx8oc and read about wheels and it seams that rx7 (Gen 3) wheels are the same fitment. I hear you lad. The baby keeps the car funds to a minimum ;) The rx7 rims could be sweet.
  9. Hey Bruce,i`ve done a walk through on this if you wanna have a look. Its in the modified and tuning section under fitted halo lights. Hope it helps :P
  10. ^^ How did you get on with fitting yours ian. Did you fit it yourself?
  11. Thats good to know. I think they look well with his car as it`s not over modified. Well they certainly look better than the standard lex alloys.I`m just more into the drift look alloys. B)
  12. Ooooooh! feeling giddy and my mouth is watering. Some pic`s PLEASE :D
  13. Was just looking at last months Banzai magazine and there was an article on a lex is200 with a 2jZ engine change I think. But what interested me was that he had mazda rx-8 alloys on them. Didn`t really tickle my fancy but was interesting to see.Are most jap alloys that interchangeable, obviously the number of studs count but? Just thought i`d throw that one out there for you all. Nothing important, just a passing thought
  14. Keep`er low!

  15. Cheers for the advice lad. No holes to screw it on. will have to drill a few along the back edge. It`s all smoothed off which i think is primed but like you said i`m gonna prime it anyway just to be sure. Thanks again.
  16. Cheers Bruce for the instructions. I sits quite nicely on the bumper,no filling needed. Now there`s a slight gap all the way around but its uniform so i`m not too worried, after all its an add on and as you said, don`t want to spend money on respraying the whole bumper. I`m going to DIY it so less money the better! There`s no holes for screws to attach it on so what would you recommend? It doesn`t meet the bottom of the original bumper so can`t use existing screws. The only place I can attach the splitter to the bumper is to screw it is at the backside of the bumper at the arch,if that makes sense. Is sits snug under the bottom mesh to the lip of the bumper. I`ll put some pic`s on tomorrow to illustrate.
  17. I got it on ebay from this seller. I`ll leave you the link. It cost me 90euro which wasn`t too bad with the pound exchange rate and he delivered within 3 days to Ireland which was great. It`s a nice add-on to the car,it just sets it off nicely I think. I should have taken a pic to show u but i`ll do it tomorrow. http://cgi.ebay.ie/Lexus-IS200-Front-Splitter_W0QQitemZ120504167203QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1c0e9bab23#ht_1534wt_939 Then I saw this one which is a few quid cheaper,D`oh! http://cgi.ebay.ie/Lexus-IS-200-300-Front-Splitter_W0QQitemZ360248200740QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item53e0774e24#ht_500wt_956
  18. Hey guys, just bought a splitter for my lex and am going to fit it but I`m not sure where to start. Can I fit it with 3m tape and/or screws? If I need screws as well, what do I need. Here`s two pic`s of it. I`m thinking of painting it black for abit of contrast. Is the white on it a primer coat and I can just spray it or do I need to primer it as well. Cheers guys. http://pbckt.com/sL.dtXz
  19. Personally I like this, was thinking of getting it for mine as well. Carbon always looks good if you`re going to add extras like this. There`s one going a little cheaper I think. Haven`t checked the exchange rate. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Carbon-fiber-Roof-Fin-Generator-for-99-05-Lexus-IS200_W0QQitemZ270551883049QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3efe261d29#ht_984wt_1165
  20. It does abit alright but i`m sure the price isn`t the same :P ! Actually that HKS kit looks sweet. I must have a better look at it. Looks well with the extended arches. B)
  21. i think black looks pretty good on all cars depending on where you put it. The lights are subtle enough and would only be really noticed by fellow owners. Black and silver work well particularly with carbon fibre look. If your oven doesn`t hold the light, you can use a hairdryer(preferably a heatgun). It will take longer and will need an extra pair of hands to hold it while you prize it open. not sure what else you could do but i`m sure some of the lads here could direct you.
  22. Hey bruce, not sure if you can get black lights but what most do is like the headlights, paint them black. I`m going to do that next. Best to get a unit from a scrap yard and go from there.
  23. I`d go for it lad. I was thinking the same and just went for it and i`m glad I did it. They look the part now, turns quite a few heads now. For something relatively inexpensive, you can`t go wrong. Check out my topic and you can see the work I did and some instructions how to do it. I bought my Halo lights on e-bay from www.creativeauto.co.uk. Good luck with the project.
  24. I`ve been looking at a few kits and wanted something a little subtle and saw this one. Does anyone know this kit and this crowd selling it? The price looks pretty good for a full kit. Heres the link to it http://turborevs.org.uk/vmchk/body-styling/lexus/lexus-is200-h-style-bodykit.html
  25. I know it probably doesn`t take as long as I did them but as a first attempt I didn`t want it to come back and bite me!I just used the 800 grade paper lightly but as you said a scotch pad was probably fine
